First time here since they moved to Century Walk. Had a reasonably good experience with the service and the food. Ordered roasted chicken rice and hainan chicken rice. Rice is yummy and made better by the ginger and chilli condiments. Both roasted and normal Chicken was well made with a smooth texture and good flavour. Overall good dining experience and good value. Would go back again.
Delicious! The best Malaysian food at the Glenn by far. Had pork and chicken rice. The spices on the table give it tons of flavour. Food comes fast. There was no wait at all. It is in the back where the bowling alley and theater is. Lots of seating and service is very friendly. Edit: Came back again today just to see if the dry noodles here are better than Local Hero. They are absolutely. The noodles and wonton were delicious.
Portion, taste, and price wise, excellent. Those who love to eat hainan chicken rice and have not had this, I think you should start ordering. Those who are not too keen on eating this dish, there are other options such as laksa and bbq pork rice. It is located inside the city walk parade in Glen Waverly, although it is a bit hidden, but it is not difficult to find at all. All the seats are indoors and it can be crowded in the afternoon. For visitors who come to this area might take train that stops not too far from this place. Vegetarian options: I don't think there is vegetarian dishes here. Kid-friendliness: Many family with young kids eat here. Parking: On the weekend the parking is free. Nit too sure of the weekdays though. Wheelchair accessibility: Level access no steps.
Malaysian here! Enjoyed their food really much. Very authentic. With unlimited chili and ginger paste as an attractive point. Will visit again soon
Place to go for authentic tasty Hainan chicken rice after movie at Village cinema. The service is quick with friendly staff. The mince pork and beancurd very salty, don't really enjoy it.
Really good food and the menu has a great range, but as mentioned by others, expect a wait for the food to arrive. Not a big deal for us as we weren’t in a hurry but it would definitely affect our choice in coming back. If you don’t mind a wait, it’s a nice option though!
We got takeaway Sunday night 30/10. The portions for takeaway felt less than those in the restaurant. Although this may just be because how it gets packed. Soo this wasn’t really factored into the rating. The “White Pepper Chicken & Pork Stomach In Claypot” soup is one of the worst we’ve tried. The soup lacked flavour. There were an ok amount of pork stomach and chicken, but they were relatively bland too. The Hainan chicken was average. The best dish was actually the 3 serves of chicken rice we got. The chicken rice was flavourful without being too oily. Even that wasn’t anything special. It wasn’t good value overall. Especially the White Pepper Chicken & Pork Stomach In Claypot.
One of the best in Melb! Orders arrive pretty quick, reasonable price and portion. Worth to try! We had hainan chicken rice and pepper soup, so yum!
First time here, I ordered Hainan chicken with dry noodles and Bak Kut Teh. The chicken itself was a little disappointed in terms of taste. The noodles however was excellent. The Bak Kut Teh was also a disappointment. What it looks like in real life is nothing like the poster and it feels like it was put together in a rush and it was only light warm. We came here on the 27th of Dec and it was packed. The waiting queue was directly opposite our table and seriously, there is no privacy what so ever. The service was adequate given how busy they were. Like many others, we waited over 25 min for our food.
To be very honest, none of the dish we had was very impressive, but I had a very low expectation when we went there. So I would say it’s a safe choice and average in every aspects.
