A tale of 2 parts.n1st part, the not so good - the Cafe.nWe only ordered 2 coffee's and 2 biscuits.nWe did go on a weekend but there may have been at most 12 people sitting down, about 3 couples ahead of us waiting and rest been served food/ drinks. We waited 25 minutes, I know there was takeaways but with the amount of staff v number of people very slow service.nThe drinks & biscuits were fine.n2nd part the good, the museum very very surprising.nIt's in various buildings with each one a different look at history not just of Gympie but of life.nGold diggin in one, a nice tribute to the history of milk and various ways of it being processed. One set up as a single person school, one as a look back on radio and audio visual, black smithing large and small machines. The list goes on and on.nI only spent about 3hrs there but have easily spent 6 or 8 hours.nDo yourself a favour and visit, highly recommend.
Such a cool place to visit! Try your hand at panning and if you're lucky like me, get an actual bit of flake gold, see the history of the gold mining in the area, enjoy a walk around and then feel old when you see a keyboard your childhood computer had nnWell worth the visit and for a very reasonable price, a great adventure for the family. Even better, our pram could get just about everywhere!nnNot just gold at this museum either. The old fire trucks, cars and machinery were awesome to look at. Kids had a ball seeing things up close and personal. The stylised displays allowed the kids to have a better understanding of what they were looking at.

This nostalgic museum has experiences for all ages from the gold panning to the historical displays. No exhibits were operating where we were there so it was presented as all static displays. It has the makings of something quite special but looks to be lacking the funds the get to the next level. Despite this it was still wonderful to visit and step back In time.
Great experience overall! Curious and interesting place with incredible customer service and the food there is delicious! Definitely worth visiting!
