Groove Train

About

The Groove Train is a restaurant, cafe & bar great for the whole family.
Serving freshly prepared delicious food & drinks.

Story

The Groove Train began in Melbourne in 1998 and was created on the foresight of Rocky Veneziano.
He envisioned a quality taste alternative to the mainstream fast food eateries.
The Groove Train was to be light on the wallet for the average person, loaded with flavour and signed with a standard of service that would later become The Groove Train legacy.

After the first store opened it generated immediate success as patron numbers climbed and word spread.
The Groove Train soon added two more restaurants and attracted a crowd of “Groovers” in Melbourne.
In the following years momentum continued to increase and store numbers doubled, tripled and expanded interstate.

Today The Groove Train is growing franchise of 22 restaurants Australia wide. We cater to a range of customers and are great for the whole family.
Serving delicious food, coffee & drinks for breakfast, lunch & dinner.

Do yourself a favour and try The Groove Train experience for yourself.

The wedges are very nice with the sour cream. But the brunch I’ve ordered are pretty average. Not bad but neither tasty. But nice environment and customer service. Still a good place to catch up.
The place looks nice, a good booth to sit in with the family and impressive menu. Unfortunately the service wasn't too good - there was a whole section on the menu that a staff member knew nothing about. The staff were also quite disengaged while we ordered drinks. My coffee was luke warm, as was the chicken parmigiana I ordered as a main meal. Only 1/3 desserts on the menu were available so we ordered cakes from the display which were quite good however came out to the table slowly and separately. I'm unlikely to voluntarily come back.
Went with my partner on a Sunday, food was really nice. And came back with more people another day as thought the food was nice. We had to wait 30 minutes or more for our food to come out. Fair enough the cook/chef wants our food to come together but wait time was very long. The food that came out was real different from the first time I had it. Everybody's chips were either over cooked or recooked as it was hard and soaked in oil. The fish was pretty average and my salad looked it had been sitting in the fridge for days. My partner liked his satay chicken with rice. Pizza was nice. One of the staff could use a little bit more clothes on...
The staff were nice and the menu has good variety and reasonable pricing. The specials menu doesn't have all the specials on it, you need to look for the chalkboard across the room for the rest. Burger special was delicious, chicken Parma was ordinary. The main dining area was well set up, good atmosphere etc. The toilet facilities were dirty and no paper. Would go again to give them another chance to get it right.
Couldn’t eat the food. Ordered the southern fried chicken burger and it was disgusting. Wife had the seafood calzone, it was a soggy doughy mess. I was worried when I came in and seen the couches held together with duct tape that maybe the owners didn’t care and when they don’t care is when disgusting things happen in the kitchen. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and that’s my own fault. $70 down the drain for some chips and drinks that were good and mains I couldn’t get through. I would of been better off going to fast food. The women that served us was great.
A friend and I visited Groove Train Burwood, for breakky on mother's day. As it was a busy morning we were expecting there may a wait, but were not concerned about food quality given the good reputation of the business. We were both shocked and horrified. We ordered two coffees, an omelette and poached eggs. The food arrived in a relatively timely manner, however the omelette was burnt and slapped on the plate and the toast with poached eggs was burnt to a crisp. What were two easy meals, were somehow terribly messed up and we frankly found ourselves wishing we opted for our granola at home. Our coffees did not arrive until after our food, and were cold whilst one tasted like the milk was off we could not even drink them. This is actually my first review I've ever written, and I am never one to whinge about food but the quality of the food and the frazzled service staff who constantly tried to deliver us other peoples orders was just ridiculous. I am unsure whether they were just having an off day but it was by far the worst hospitality experience I've ever had and unfortunately we will not be returning which is really quite a shame!
Huge disappointment! Ordered 5 dishes, only one was nice. The others were yucky! Flavour: way worse than bad food-court food! Not to mention overpriced. I will not waste my time and money to go to the Groove Train Burwood again! There are many other restaurants with much better food! The chef should know what a particular meal should taste like. Eg. Thai Red Curry should taste accordingly. Enough said....
I have been here a number of times and have always had a good experience. Last time I was there I forgot my wallet, and thought it was in the car, but no, not with me. The waitress spoke to the manager and instead of it being awkward, he said enjoy your lunch and pop back next time you are going past. I was so appreciative of his relaxed and professional attitude, I actually did relax and enjoy my lunch. Needless to say I was back within 40mins to pay the bill, Thanks.
My gnocchi was great, highly recommend BUT waited almost an hour between ordering and getting food. Loads of empty tables, no explanation of long wait time. We were so hungry when food came we inhaled it! Tasty, but don't think about going if you are hungry right now!
I ordered a Chicken Parmigiana. It wasn’t real chicken breast and it was barely cooked. The chicken breast was identical to those bought at Coles which is fitting since there is a Coles in the same shopping block. It was quite disgusting and to charge $26 for that.. no thank you. I’ve eaten the same chicken parmigiana from other Groove Trains and it was nothing like what I was served tonight. I puke have been embarrassed serving that to someone. On top of that the staff were very slow and didn’t clear the whole table before desert. When we went in even on of the staff said it was very quiet. Overall I’m so disappointed with my experience and will not be returning.
