Delicious! Will be back for sure. Almond croissant was fantastic. Great chai too.
Really authentic shop for this bakery with an impressive selection of pastries that look too good to ignore. The vanilla slice was really good with fresh pastry and flavourful cream. They are so big you can do two servings with it. Rye bread was good too. Didn't find the eclair that special. Hot cross buns dried out very quickly. The spanakopita was disappointing. Coffee just okay.nIt's annoying that prices are not clearly displayed with the products. Overall this bakery is worth a detour from the freeway.
Disappointing pies. Drove all the way down from Melbourne to experience this pie shop, having changed our mind according to reviews that Grist was the place to go as originally was supposed to go to Country Cobb. Had two pies which were at least re-heated twice. Very hard to chew pastry and dry. Yes I have worked in a bakery and know when pies are freshly heated and re-heated. At 9 bucks a pie very DISAPPOINTING. Perhaps we were noticed as non-locals and given the re-heated stuff. Not sure but not as good as reviews claim. Will go to Country Cobb next time and hope to get a better pie.
Large selection and large portions. Delicious pastries. They have the largest almond croissant I've ever seen, but it's filled with a custard rather than frangipane, so if the frangipane is your fave part of an almond croissant, go with a different treat. The apple crumble tart is magnificent! My wife says the spinach ricotta roll is the best one she's had. There seems to be a wider selection on the weekend, but there's still heaps to choose from on weekdays!
If we could give 10 stars for service, we would!! We left a recent purchase on a chair when we left the bakery, which was subsequently handed in by a customer to the staff. We called about an hour later from Melbourne when we realised we didn’t have it. The staff were so helpful, went far more than the extra mile, and couldn’t have done more to get it to us. Truly amazing group of people Thank you SO MUCH! Oh, and the food was great, too .
