The chocolate éclair is delightful, with a rich, creamy filling that melts in your mouth. Both the croissant and chocolate croissant are perfectly flaky and buttery. The staff is warm and welcoming, making the visit even more enjoyable. Highly recommended!
Easily the best pasties we’ve ever had!nIn a location that you could easily miss and drive past, we stumbled across this bakery a while back. We have been here many times since and they have always impressed us.nOur order, as usual, was for Vegetable Pasties.nThe pastry is flaky with a perfect consistency. And with some places the filling to pastry ratio can be out but they absolutely nail it here with so much filling!nAnd the vegetables!! Big chunky roasted vegetables that are absolutely delicious - you can tell that they are prepared especially for the pasties.nSo glad that they continue to shine - we’ll see you again for sure!nnNote: They also have an option to grab their baked goods cold, so we grabbed four extra pasties to heat up later on.
Grist’s puff pastry is EXCEPTIONAL. I’m not sure how I can go back to standard puff pastry now, when this incredible example has stolen my heart forever.nnI loved being able to choose a few mini tarts and cakes from the vast range of Petit Four to share with my travel partner.nnThe orange and almond cake was fudge-like in texture with intense orange flavour, balanced in sweetness thanks to the candied orange peel - I wish I’d had room for a dozen more!
Love this bakery and will always come here when visiting Kyneton. Delicious baked goods and the coffee isn't bad either!
Ordered the Mushroom Pie and Vanilla Slice.nnBoth were delicious and good value for money considering the size and quality.nnHowever would have liked the pie to be hotter as it was only warm.nnIt would be nice to have an option of a salad on the side to add a bit of freshness.nnLoved the old charm of the building, but the place was quiet and didn’t have much vibe. Even just adding some music to match the charm could elevate this experience.nnOverall, I enjoyed my pie.
