This cinema is nice. The regular seats don't have a recliner or are very spaciouscan only sit on the chair with feet on the ground. But besides that, it's great. Clean, good size screen and comfortable seats. Also the entire cinema is roomy in size.
Very dirty, popcorn everywhere, most lollies missing and the ones that were there tasted old. The cinema room was also dirty, with popcorn on the seat. Will not be surprised if cinemas go bankrupt, we now have the ability to watch any movies at low costs at home, if businesses like yours don’t try to offer a differentiated experience, there’s no need to go to cinemas. The bare minimum is to ensure that it’s clean!
Events Cinemas Bondi Junction is a great place for entertainment. There are movies available that suit all age groups, and occasionally you’ll find a screening of international movies as well. The facility is well looked after. The Events crew is lovely and friendly. There is the lift which is accessible for prams and wheelchairs. The only letdown is hygiene. The toilets are dirty at times, and the water taps are often broken, wasting a lot of water. I often find food debris on the carpet or inside the cinemas.
It used to be a very nice cinema when newly opened. However that was a very long time ago! Now it has badly aged and it lacks basic cleaning and maintenance. Restrooms are smelly. Urinals have thick yellow deposit ring around. Floor is cover with .... Grounds are dirty all through the place. There was no cleaning done between movies in individual cinemas. Chairs were stained, smelly and trash was left behind those few brave enough visitors, who did pay $24 a ticket. There was only one staff left at the cashier and he didn't know how to put the cinema membership number with the ticket purchased. Then you have to sit through half an hour of boring advertisments before the movie finally starts! Not a pleasant experience!
We tried the amazing cinema beds.... we had pillows missing, my bf didn't get one and I had a pillow that wasn't even from event. The bed was pushed out so we had to fix it and there was a face mask covered in vinegar under my bf side so I could smell it the whole movie. If I wasn't really excited about the movie we were watching I would of went out and asked for my money back. We paid about $70 for the bed plus snacks it was not worth it. There was stains on my side of the bed chocolate but maybe something else and of course there was popcorn all over the bed. I think they should change the fabric to something easier to clean and actually clean them before the movie... make them a priority as it is meant to be a luxury seat.
The cinema was so dirty and unclean. The seats were strewn with popcorn, old packets and drinks in the holders… The toilets smelt awful. When I spoke to someone to ask them to clean the couple seat we booked, I was informed the cleaners come once/ day - overnight. $25 / ticket to sit in filth. I’m going back to The Ritz in Randwick - cheaper, clean and beautifully maintained . Extraordinary experience.
This is what our seats looked when we arrived. Obviously didn’t sit here. Whole place is an absolute shambles. Popcorn everywhere, no locks on toilets, taps broken. Feels like watching a film in Soviet era or something. Honestly worst cinema I have ever been, and I go to a lot.
Absolutely disgusting toilets at this cinema when I brought it to the attention to the kids on duty they looked at me confused but just brushed it off. Expensive experience poor delivery of service. Some images are to gross to post.
This place could really do with a refresh! This was my first visit to not only this cinema, but an Event Cinema location - I must say I wasn't impressed and I'm not in a hurry to visit again! Of the 5 self serve ticket machines, 3 were turned off, 1 had an error on its screen, and the last one had a long line of people behind it. That line soon disappeared when that last machine gave up on life too, deciding to display a printer paper error on its screen. After trying unsuccessfully to use the website to book a ticket the site didn't seem to want to tell me what I was doing wrong! I tried to figure out if I could but a ticket from a human or just try to sneak in as I couldn't seem to see any staff anywhere!. After a long hunt through a roped-off candy area I finally located a sole staff member selling tickets - she was very friendly and we finally sorted out our tickets! The cinema itself was clean, the sound and picture good, but the seats weren't the comfiest my regular cinema is Hoyts Recliners. Strangely, the lights weren't turned on at the end of the movie - we waited out the entirety of the credits thinking there was another scene in darkness. Finally the screen went totally black and elevator music starting playing - we stumbled out of the cinema in pitch darkness thankful not to to over and break a leg.
Really poor experience at the Bondi Junction cinema on a Friday afternoon. Hardly any lollies in the lolly bar area, dirty carpet, and staff that couldn’t care less. People walking in without showing tickets, I could have bought a child ticket or better still, no ticket at all. No one checking and lots of teenagers getting in to see movies for free. Whoever is managing this centre, needs to do better!
