Such a beautiful setting on a perfect summer afternoon with a warm breeze blowing while enjoying delicious food under the shade of an enormous tree, life is good. With the charming and delightful guidance of our server, a New Zealander of Italian heritage, we chose 3 well balanced and flavourful dishes to share. The Swedish meatballs were creamy and moist; the fish of the day was perfectly seasoned and delicately cooked; and the tortellini with crayfish bisque were simply phenomenal. In fact, we savoured the crayfish sauce so much we ordered a second serving of them. Oh, so good. My hubby decided to enjoy the chocolate mousse for dessert which looked so tempting, but I was happy to continue savouring the skillfully prepared and excellent tortellini with that exceptional bisque. A perfect finish to our leisurely lunch.
If you like really good food in small portions this is for you. Food is excellent. Not overpriced but not cheap. An experience worth having. We loved it and will return. Not suitable for kids. Wine was reasonably priced. Definitely worth a visit. We drove to it from Matamata and we were not disappointed. Try it. It's great. Cocktails were excellent.

I had my birthday dinner with my friend here. We both loved all the dishes that we shared. I love the concept of tapas. Various options on the wines and I was able to choose easily among them. Service was amazing. Overall amazing experience
Everytime I go to Hamilton I have to eat at Gothenburg, I love the atmosphere and it has such a relaxing environment.nnThe food is delicious, it’s always well seasoned and tasty. The fish menu outshines the red meat menu.nnWe ordered a few dishes, the only negative is that the order in which they came out was wrong. I will state each dish in the order we received them.nnLamb ribs - a must have it’s deliciousnCalamari - yum and seasoned wellnSeafood pasta - good but the spinach does not go wellnTuna ceviche - found the wasabi peas hard for my teeth but overall really good. Loved the saucenBeef short rib - we did order this late, hence it came last. Did not enjoy this, it was a lump of meat on the plate. It was not cleaned properly so all the yucky bits and bone were on the plate. Could have been cleaned and made to look better.
