The staff were all friendly, and the coffee was absolutely perfect. The food was impressively delicious, and I definitely want to come back to try other menu items. It's a place I'd recommend to anyone—a space where you can have a comfortable and enjoyable time. I wish I could have taken better photos of the food; it's a bit of a shame.
A great foodie find. They have a great menu, filled with a good variety of Japanese inspired dishes. The food was delicious and portions were good.
Beautiful Japanese fusion cafe. We used to visit another cafe for Japanese carbonara udon but they have a seasonal menu so they no longer have it. It’s awesome that we find a replacement in Matta Cafe and I would say theirs might be even better.nnThe carbonara was very rich so it’s best to be partnered with a drink. We also got the tempura prawn nori taco and karage octopus poke bowl. The tacos were confusing to me as I found them to be more nori bowls than tacos, and I found it textually lacking without any rice. The poke bowl on the other had was great and the octopus were very bouncy.nnThe drinks were another highlight. We got hochicha and matcha latte, both with soy milk yet both are super fragrant and creamy. We also saw a lot of people coming just for takeaway drinks, which speaks volume to how good their drinks are.
Hidden gem tucked away in a row of shops in Balwyn North. Consistently great coffee and non-coffee alternatives - the Osmanthus latte is incredible and such a unique drink! Food doesn’t disappoint either and the decor and setting of the cafe is clean and aesthetic. Friendly staff too!
I am actually really impressed with the quality of this place! All dishes were very delicious. Especially recommend the prawn nori tacos as they were so refreshing and crispy! And the Hojicha was a wonderful drink. Will definitely be going here again.
