We have been to the Kumeu branch several times but this is the first time at Hobsonville. The staff are very friendly and greeted us with a warm smile. Drinks, Entree and Mains all arrived quickly. Wait staff took our photo and was very helpful. We like this place and would highly recommend it to anyone who likes authentic Thai food Parking: Large parking lit as there is a supermarket nearby Wheelchair accessibility: Disabled parking spaces outside and wide doors
An incredible restaurant featuring delightful, attentive and responsive staff. Plus, the dishes were extremely fair portions for their cost, brought out in good time, and left us desiring to return and try other plates.
We ordered Cashew stir fry, it came with only vegetables in it and no sign of cashews. We called them, they did not answer hence we emailed them about it. Their reply was that we will get a cashew credit means they’ll add some cashews on our next order. My question is, if you order a chicken based dish and if chicken was missing, would you offer a ‘chicken credit’ on the next order? After asking this question they asked us to bring back the dish if we hadn’t eaten more than half of it which we hadn’t and they would refund $9.75 half price. Who’s going to pay for the fuel to go back? Who’s going to replace the disappointing experience we had when we were really looking forward to enjoying our takeaway dinner on the weekend after a long week? Don’t waste your time with these scammers. The food ordinary, the quantity of the food is less than what you normally get with other Thai takeaways and it’s overpriced. Do not recommend this at all, you’ll get a far better range of Thai takeaways if you drove 10 mins and go to Greenhithe or Albany instead. P.s - By the looks of it, owner is used to giving pathetic excuses and arrogant replies to the reviews that are opportunities for improvement. *Replying to the owner - 1. If you can’t put cashews in your dish that you sell as ‘Cashew Stir Fry’ then stop calling it that and charging the premium price for it. 2. If you can’t replace the customer’s dish with what they’ve paid for instead of penalizing them to come back to your shop for half a refund then stop being in the hospitality business. 3. This is not the first time you’ve done this with your takeaway orders, read other reviews. It could be only 1 takeaway worth $19.50 for you but for me it was something I was really looking forward to enjoying. 4. At the end of the day it’s not about money only, the arrogance is appalling, it’s how you treat your customers. 5. Keep the money. We wish you good luck with your Karma!
Ordered a Chicken Green Curry from here. Firstly i was surprisied they charged extra on the $19 for the curry for Rice! I got home and started to plate up for myself and was trying to find the chicken. I had to REALLY look for it. So i decided to measure the amount of chicken. 32gm of chicken I called up the store to ask how much chicken i should expect to find in my curry they said "100gm or more" I told them i had 32gm to which they said "Impossible" i told them i weighed it and would come and show them to which she replied "Ok we will have to trust you bring all of the chicken with you" I decided to cut my losses and not waste my time with people who wont take my word. WILL NOT BE COMING BACK OR RECCOMENDING TO ANYONE.....
We went there for lunch and all of our meals were fantastic. Especially the Tom Yum soup with pork, the pork was very tender and the soup was full of flavour. Excellent. The pad Thai also looked like it was saucy and delicious. The service was very friendly and welcoming, we even were gifted a small souvenir, key chain, as we left for new years celebration. Would recommend, don't listen to the negative reviews and give it a go. I am glad I did. Will be back soon, thanks. Kid-friendliness: High chair arranged prior to arriving, thank you. Parking: Good parking with the supermarket car parking.
Picked up takeout curry tonight and got home to find there was no rice... really - ordered on line and had no idea meal did not include rice, never known to order a curry with no rice included... . Please just include rice in the meals and up the price if that is what is needed - otherwise how are we to know to no rice with the meal - very disappointed - why would you make this so hard - at very least they should have asked when we picked up the meal if we would like rice as it was not included..
Best Thai in AKL. Has been for many years, always supported Kumeu branch and now Hobsonville - pretty much every 2 weeks we order. Absolutely beautiful food. Never ever disappointed.
Great customer service, food was ready super quick, mains and spring rolls were lovely, buffalo chicken was a tad dry/not much flavour but overall nice place.
An important part of the Hobsonville community. However there is room for improvement, the Pad Thai had all the sweet and sour but not much freshness in the beef. the green curry had the spice and flavor but wasn't creamy. Portions are generous and service is fantastic with excellent presentation.
We were here for lunch mid week. A table for four. Service was excellent, the food was very nice and the menu selection appeared to be quite extensive. The meal prices were very reasonable too. The wine and beer list was well chosen for the occasion. It is a restaurant that you could easily return to with friends and be confident about returning. Parking: The parking is shared with supermarket although there are always spaces becoming available. Wheelchair accessibility: While the disabled parking spaces are there they aren't very well marked with visible sign posts. This is an issue for the centre management.
