Great place for pies, pastry and other baked goods. I usually order cold mini pies and samosas through their website when I have friends over. The mini curry puffs are a must try. They also do great rice paper rolls order online for those who are gluten intolerant or celiac.nnIt’s always busy, but the line moves fast. There are a few seats and tables inside and outside under shade cloth. Parking is limited to 6 bays but street parking available on side streets.
Picked up some tasty mini pies, were just what we needed as a snack before lunch. Lots of variety and from the empty trays you can see that the food was moving fast. Will be going back to try some of the sweet offerings also.
Great pies with variety of options especially for work parties
Taste buds have gone to heaven. One of the best sausage rolls I’ve had for a long time. The pastry is perfecto. Thick with a softness that matches the baked crunch. Filling impressive. Served at excellent temperature. A tradies heaven and I can see why the line is large but so fast moving. Return visit so yes. And down the road from an ace micro brewery, now that’s a match made in heaven.
I first discovered Golden Bakery in the 90’s when I first came here for work. This was before Pie Eating was a serious endeavour and Facebook pie pages did not exist. I thought they were a pretty good pie.nNow we have Facebook pages like Perth Pie Hunters, we are getting serious. Reading the reviews, I was not sure if these guys rated or not. Today, work brought me to within a kilometer of Golden Bakery at lunch time so I thought I would refresh my memory.nI again went for the Cheese and Bacon double, pie and sausage roll.nThe pie was enormous! Weighing in 364g it was maybe the heaviest pie I have weighed. I do prefer quality over quantity, so I dug in for the taste test. I was not disappointed. This pie had everything you want in a cheese and bacon pie. I would have liked more visible cheese but the flavour was present and it had a real piece of bacon in there. The meat and gravy was predominantly mince and it had a slightly sweet taste which I enjoyed.nThe cheese and bacon sausage roll was also very good
