Very good service. There is always a queue outside but we booked at 7pm and went to the front of the line and was seated immediately. Good quality meat and very quick service. The waiter remembered our entire order without a paper and pen! This was quite impressive as we ordered a lot! No time limit on seating. Soju was priced reasonably. Will be back !
A classic example of no matter where you eat, Korean BBQ never disappoints. We enjoyed our time there and the food, however, will probably not go back. Varieties of condiments offered and refillings are not free, usually, at other places it is. We were told when we sat at the table that on weekends there is a time limit of 1.5hours, found it extremely weird because the time limit usually applies to buffets. I think they should have clarified it over the phone when we booked. Catching up with friends after so long and 1.5 hours is not enough. We were politely reminded by staff 15 minutes prior that our time is almost up and better hurry up. On our way out we saw people waiting in line to be seated and it was a house full, so it somehow explains the time limit. The last 15minutes, after all, were actually not too bad as the portions of meat given were too less and if you just focus on eating, dinner could be finished in only first 30 minutes. We ordered a set menu: Chilli marinated chicken, marinated Lamb rib, marinated pork, and kimchi stew for $75. The portion was fair enough considering it was a set menu. $19 for those tiny 4 prawns, highly disappointed. Japchae was nice.
The best Korean bbq I ever had in Melbourne. I have been coming here since the restaurant opened. And the pork set with Kimchi soup is my all time favourite!
I have recently added Gogimatcha to my list of fave kbbq places! Their meats are fresh and marinated beautifully and they have a incredible range of side dishes to go along with the meats Tried out several dishes with their KBBQ: • Seafood Pancake • Cheese Corn • Spicy Cold Noodles with Soup • Army Stew • Gyeranjjim Steamed Eggs Their spicy cold noodles are the best!! So flavourful and the noodles don’t all stick in a clump like some other places. Definitely my fave to eat with grilled meats! Also their seafood pancake has those delicious crispy edges and a great amount of seafood in them - it’s a must order too! Gogimatcha is defs not the most affordable KBBQ place out there but the quality makes up for it!
Highly recommended this place, I have tried quite a lot of Korean BBQ around the city but none of them give me such good meal like this restaurant. I had the $145 BBQ set that includes a big bu dae ji gae hot pot, the meat has mixed spices applied on, not like the other places that just have plain meat. Their boneless fried chicken is very impressive too, it looks like they make their own fried chicken not the frozen ones got from the factory. The price is a bit above average but personally i think it’s worth to pay for.
I found the price extremely high for the portion of the food. We got the beef BBQ pack which did not have enough meat for 2. The meat was dry, not juicy and didn't taste like anything. There are much better Korean BBQ places in the CBD with much better value for money. This place is a rip-off in my opinion. I would not come back.
Had a lovely dinner here for Korean BBQ. We ordered one of the sets for 4, with beef, beef rib, pork and soy chicken and bulgogi hot pot. The bulgogi hot pot is a must order. The slightly sweet meat goes very well with the soup and sweet potato noodles. We also got the seafood pancake and had drinks. Rice wine and soju. The bill was $236 for 4, which was reasonable considering the amount of food we had. We rolled out so full!
Excellent quality at a standard price that we would expect for most CBD located Korean BBQ restaurants. Good selection of side dishes. The atmosphere is nice, venue is clean. Parking nearby is not great. Overall a good experience.
We ordered the Wagyu rib meat, marinated oyster blade Bulgogi, a Japchae and a corn tea, which came to $102 - somewhat expensive for what it was. Considering KBBQ is a DIY experience, there really wasn't anything remarkable. The space was utilitarian and service was minimal. They didn't rush us, probably because it wasn't full house on the Sunday night. Melbourne's gastronomic scene is so competitive, this one needs something special to be memorable.
Yummy and will go again for others foods in their menu's. Lot of side dishes too
