ABSOLUTELY CARELESS! Reception won’t answer calls during the open hours, and then the Doctor will maybe call you back, hours later without an apology or concern whatsoever. My asthma flare up started 2 weeks ago and has now has turned into full blown pneumonia because I was prescribed an inhaler only a few days ago, after it had already developed into a chest infection. I’ve been a patient with Chartwell Doctors for over 3 years and have consistently had these same problems with getting in contact with anyone from their side. In the past, I’ve been charged multiple times for scheduled phone appointments that never existed. When I’ve wanted to query the long term medication I am on, the doctor just renews the same prescription, doesn’t call you for the appointment and then charges you $40 for the service.
After 5 years of going here, I can officially confirm these doctors have never been helpful. I've never had any answers to my health problems as all they do is request tests then say the tests are normal, even though my issues are ongoing. Every appointment they have been 30-45 minutes late. My appointment today was meant to be at 4pm; I was advised due to COVID, a doctor would call me for a phone consultation. I tried calling reception half an hour beforehand and noone would pick up. The doctor finally called at 4:55 and didn't even apologise.
I've been going to Glenfield doctors for 31 years. Since John will cox left, the place has gone down hill greatly. Wait times are ridiculous. The new doctor Deborah Waxman is very cold and doesn't care at all and is very rude. She once diagnosed my heat rash as scabies... Going off the report about Deborah Waxman when you Google her name, I'm shocked Glenfield doctors even hired her when she clearly has a bad reputation. Tony is friendly and nice, but I don't think he has much experience and it shows in past appointments with him. Going off another review about them being racist. I find that very false as I find every worker and patient there now is asian. A side note. Very expensive, and since lockdown phone consultations are even more experience which makes no sense at all.
I have been a patient of Dr Jon for 29 years. I am a very anxious patient and Dr Jon is a fantastic GP. I trust and rely on him implicitly. As he is on extended leave it was with great anxiety l went to see the new Doctor, Dr Deborah Waxman this morning. I could not have been more happy with my first meeting with Dr Waxman. She understood my anxiety and almost immediately put me at ease. She was professional and empathic. I had been feeling unsettled knowing Dr Jon is away but now l know Dr Deborah is there l feel like l have a caring GP again. Cheers
Very poor. They never answer their phone and they dont reply to messages, worst bunch lve ever encounted.
After moving to auckland i was required to enrol with a new gp. I got in with Doctor Deborah Waxman who I have had 3 consultations with. The first consultation she refused to further prescribe me medicine my previous doctor had been prescribing me for longer than 10 years because she told me they are addictive. However, from my notes she can clearly see I have never been a drug seeker or abused this medicine. Therefore worsening my wellbeing without having access to this medicine when I do require it. She was utterly rude and dismissive when I tried to explain further my use of this medicine and my health condition and made it very clear she did not care about my medical background. I could hardly get a word in. On the third consultation over the phone Deborah refused to reduce a dose of medication I was on which was leaving me bedridden most days and unable to function. She said "I have never met you so how am I meant to make this decision?" I had met her twice before, face to face regarding the same health issue and in order for her to reduce my dose she would need to meet with me a few times to build rapport with me. I simply cannot afford to pay more money to go for "chats" so she can get to know me. Trying to get money out of me, clearly. Again, she was extremely rude and did not listen to anything I had to say. She was argumentative when I shared my experiences and told me she "wasn't going to have this discussion on a Monday". I am disgusted to have had an experience with a doctor who is meant to work collaboratively with patients and actually help people. She has only made my wellbeing worse. Additionally, her attitude towards me, her blatant disregard, the way she spoke down to me and her overwhelming rudeness has left me feeling extremely upset. If you want to go downhill then go and see doctor Deborah!
Booked an appointment with John but since he's still away I was Booked in with Dr Deborah Waxman who was the rudest Dr I have ever experienced after being Johns patient for 32 years. She was so rude and made it clear she had no time for me and my issues. As soon as I got into the Consultation room I said I had a 2 issues and straight off the bat she said she has no time for the 2 issues and I need to pick the most serious one as I only have 15min and will need to make another appointment for my other issue. To me it seemed as though she did not care about me and did not listen to what I had to say, just wanted me to make another appointment to get more money out of me?. I am very very disappointed, a Dr should be someone who cares about the patient and not the clock or money. I was prescribed "medicine" for injury pain that I have since learnt is more of an anti inflammatory, which on the advice of my physio is no help whatsoever to my injury recovery. I had explained this to Deborah but clearly I wasn't listened too. What an absolute waste of money and time, Glenfield Drs on Chartwell should be ashamed to have a Dr like this on their roster.
I have been a patient of Dr Jon Wilcox for over 30 years but lately since his illness it has been hard to see him and things have been missed . However recently I have been seeing Dr Deborah Waxman and have been very happy. There is so much pressure on doctors to keep to appointment times it is hard for them to give the full service we would all like. When you're not a partner the pressure is even tougher. You can read comments about waiting times. It is a hard thing to balance. Dr Waxman was great she sorted out the referral for my knees and helped to push the urgency so that I was seen by the specialist. Dr Waxman has been really helpful and I really appreciate her support in sorting out what has been a longstanding and very painful issue.
Doctors are awesome - caring, friendly, average 40+ min wait time. Nurses are not too bad - clumsy, not gentle. Receptionists are horrible - super unfriendly, not caring, they just don't give a f. Finally leaving this place.
For 30 yrs now Dr Wilcox has looked after the health of myself and my family with care, empathy & expertise. Yes the waiting time can be long...but if this is the price you pay to be treated by someone who gives the time to address all your medical needs...then I say it's worth the wait. He is a quality doctor. Thx John
