At GLCH we deliver an extensive range of accessible health services and health promotion activities to the people of East Gippsland.

Story

We really appreciate it when you contribute to our social media channels. Your feedback, experiences and suggestions are an excellent way for us to connect with you and vice versa. GLCH’s social media accounts are moderated during standard operating hours only: Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.00pm AEST (unless otherwise stated and excluding public holidays).
All comments posted are reviewed by our moderator and subject to a few important rules.
1. We welcome all feedback, both positive and negative, but it will sometimes be necessary to moderate content without your prior agreement on our social media channels and website. The decision to moderate content will be at GLCH’s absolute discretion and may be based on the factors including, but not limited to, the following criteria:
a) No private or confidential information may be disclosed. The privacy of our customers, clients and stakeholders is of paramount importance to us and taken very seriously.
b) No inappropriate content or personal attacks will be posted. Please don't post demeaning, disrespectful, offensive, obscene, threatening or abusive comments. If your post contains vulgar or inflammatory language, or information that purposely or inadvertently identifies a person in a way that breaches their privacy it will not be posted.
c) Participation needs to be relevant to the topic, and helpful to the community. We may decide not to post content that is unrelated to the topic and any content that repetitively talks to the same subject, i.e. flame-wars, personal agendas, etc. We will not post any content that solicits sales, or which appear to be for personal, political or commercial gains.
d) Any material which is illegal, misleading or deceptive, which may infringe a third party's intellectual property rights, or which may in any way present a risk to GLCH, its staff/volunteers, or stakeholders will not be posted..
e) Be courteous and respectful to community members. Just like in everyday life, good manners are important online. Please try to refrain from shouting (ALL CAPITALS), excessive use of slang and misrepresenting yourself to others.
f) We reserve the right (where the social media channel allows) to block users from GLCH social media channels at our sole discretion and without notice.
2. All contributors should be transparent
We will assume that community members will not misrepresent themselves or post false and misleading information.
3. Our social media channels are NOT customer service points
We will try to answer questions and contribute to the discussion, however our social media channels are not meant for customer service or handling complaints. Sometimes we may redirect you to other more appropriate channels, such as our website, consumer feedback officer, or team managers.
4. Privacy statement
GLCH only records information for the purpose of administering its social media pages and considering and/or addressing any comments made. No attempt will be made to further identify individuals. GLCH is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of the host or any linked websites.
Users are reminded that social media sites are public spaces on the Internet and interactions are publicly viewable and searchable over time i.e. comments, likes etc. Social media services provide their own disclaimers and policies on collection and use of visitor information, over which GLCH has no control. GLCH encourages users to familiarise themselves with the terms of use of each social media site before use. GLCH cannot control what members of the public may do with the content you have contributed.

FYI Only accepting existing patients, even though have 10+ appointments available on hot doc today. Was referred to private doc $82 for appointment, I cannot afford, or Telehealth appointment but I need symptoms viewed or go to Bairnsdale not easy for me to get to
Jane, the nurse that I saw, took her time and made sure I left in better health than when I came. Receptionist was patient and accomodating. The entire appointment only costed $6. Would highly recommend.
Dr Adel is arguably the most caring, considerate, thoughtful doctor I have ever dealt with. He has been caring for my sick dad and honestly has gone above and beyond. His attention and compassion has been remarkable. Dr Adel is dedicated to his patients and showed such compassion. We are very lucky to have doctors like him, especially my dad.
I've been attending this well run clinic for almost 15 years. I moved away, but happy to drive 45 minutes to see my favourite GP every 6 weeks for a small procedure, and any other time in between if need be. They do their best to accommodate others needs, but people need to understand and respect that they are a small business which houses a lot of other medical facilities. LE is a smallish coastal town and there are times when the population triples, so the medical services have to attend to those visitors too. Be patient, and plan your booking ahead if you can.
I have been a patient of the GLCH for more than three years. Last week I fell in the rain and suffered a very painful badly swollen foot. The next morning my husband rang GLCH and was told there were no appointments until 11:30. My husband explained this was not a cut finger and I needed assessed as soon as possible to see whether I had broken my foot or not as I was in a great deal of pain. Staff showed no empathy whatsoever. After talking to the Receptionist to no avail and then being put through to the Triage Nurse, was told I could come in but I would have to wait around until the ‘On Call’ Doctor was available. No empathy whatsoever and no sign of caring. I ended up going to the Emergency Department at Bairnsdale Hospital. Very disappointed with GLCH.
