I had read about this in The Age and thought great when I'm in the city Tuesday I will visit. What a disappointment. The display is situated on the top floor ghost level of the old Myer building and has been set up by someone who doesn't seem to like Christmas displays. Why else would the whole experience be so so dark. You enter into a very dark room with no overhead lighting, some of the gingerbread houses are lit but many are not so yes you can make out that this is a beach scene but because not lit the display gets lost in the darkness of the cavernous space. Yes there are a couple of cute gingerbread houses but overall disappointing.
A wonderland for both Kids and adults - especially if you know Melbourne’s buildings - the churches, Flinders st station, the stadium, royal hospital, art Center Melbourne and some international places. A must go during the holiday season. The employers are very helpful. Just ask them anything, including how long you need to wait...
Nice exhibition of Melbourne's iconic buildings. it does get busy though. And all the proceeds go to the royal children's hospital.
Pity the website says it's open from 10am to 6.30pm today, 28th December because when I drove 40 minutes to get there, it's closed, pull down!!!
cool displays i guess. long queues for such a little room though; was disappointed to wait for 40 minutes for such a small room
Loved it last year hope its on this year 2020
Translated by Google This year's Gingerbread Village is located on the first floor of St Collins Lane. Although the venue is small and there are not many exhibits, you can really feel the festive atmosphere and fully demonstrate the local characteristics of Melbourne. In addition, the sister city also exhibits gingerbread Osaka Castle! It's worth a look! Original St Collins lane
