Genesis is the first gym that I’ve attended where I feel a sense of community. Everyone is so friendly and supportive. The staff are amazing, especially my trainer Brendan who has helped transform my life in more ways than I can articulate. I never thought I’d become one of those people who love going to the gym but it’s the best part of my day.
I signed up with Brendan Wood because I was constantly sore and struggling with running. After nine months of his strength focused training, I feel stronger, healthier, and can run long distances without the soreness I used to deal with. He knows his stuff, provides structured sessions, and gets results.
I’ve had such a great experience at this gym! Brendan is an amazing trainer super knowledgeable, motivating, and always takes the time to make sure I’m confident with my workouts. Sam and Georgia are absolutely the best receptionists, they’re always welcoming, friendly, and make the whole atmosphere feel positive from the moment you walk in. Couldn’t recommend this gym more!
Worst managed gym in the area. 60% of the treadmills are always out of order and the ones that do operate are from 1967. Clearly Genesis can’t hold up their part of the contract of providing a gym facility with operating equipment.nnLots of hidden conditions to memberships that aren’t communicated like cancelation fees and 30days notice. The gym is basically taking advantage of people. It could have been simple, I decided that I don’t want come to the gym, please cancel my contract and I’ll be out of your hair.nnThey will be losing a lot more members from this experience.
My mother recently had a horrifying experience at Genesys Gym by the Owner Mel — her very first time ever joining a gym at 54 years old. She was yelled at, humiliated, and kicked out simply for not wearing shoes while stretching, something she had no idea was against the rules. Instead of calmly explaining the policy, the owner chose to publicly belittle and degrade her.nnShe tried to ask one simple question and was immediately met with aggression and hostility. Without any written warning or basic courtesy, her membership was cancelled on the spot. What makes this worse is that my mother disclosed she was about to have a seizure, and not a single staff member offered assistance or showed any duty of care.nnShe was racially targeted, verbally attacked, and emotionally broken down in front of others. My mother suffers from mental health issues, and this kind of treatment is absolutely unacceptable — no person, let alone a new member trying to improve their wellbeing, deserves to be treated this way.nnGenesys Gym should be ashamed of how they handled this situation. I urge anyone considering joining to think twice before supporting a place that lacks compassion, professionalism, and basic human decency.
