Messina is already so well known for some of the best ice cream on the planet and the Richmond site doesn't mess with a winning formula. Great location, some seating inside, staff are friendly and helpful. You can have some small taste tests to help you choose from one of the 40 flavours. The regular special flavours are changed often and worth always checking in for a naughty treat
The best gelato! Came here on a Tuesday night and it was pretty busy at 9:30pm. Staff were lovely and generous with the tasters and scoops themselves. The store has a lovely minimal vibe and is clean and presentable. Could do with a bit more seating but it was also very busy so that was no issue. Overall definitely try this place out as it’s AMAZING.
My go-to Messina! It's a 2-minute walk from East Richmond station and worth-it for whenever you are craving gelato. The people who work there are always so friendly and sweet; I love that they don't mind letting you try a bunch of flavours perfect considering all their flavours are amazing! I love trying all the specials and their classic flavours are equally as good. My favourite flavours are tiramisu it's the best I've ever had, pistachio praline, vanilla and super dulce de leche. Some of their best specials in my opinion are You Cannoli Live Once, Fairy Bread and Peanut Butter Florentine. There's roughly 40 flavours in store so I assure you that there's a flavour perfect for you. I'll admit, sometimes the scoops can vary in size some scoopers are more generous than others but for the quality of gelato, the price is more than worth it. Plus, if you get their rewards app and frequent them as much as I do you'll eventually earn enough points to get a free scoop or save up enough to get a free tub! Attached photo is a two scoop with two of their weekly specials, PBJ Toasted bread gelato with peanut spread and raspberry jam and Pump It Up Spiced pumpkin gelato with vanilla whipped cream and pie crust.
The gelati is the best, however the scoops are very small here in Richmond. We have been to the other stores & you get a decent scoop. The owner needs to say something to the girls in Richmond. It’s expensive so scoops need to be a proper scoop please. Thank you
One of the best ice creams one would ever have. So many flavours to choose from. There also have sorbet style icreams too.. my favorites address anything with pistachios. And there are no gelatin in these icecreams either! Bit dangerous to be living nearby especially if you are a sweet tooth
Very good ice cream. Very cool selection of flavours. The staff is really friendly . We really liked the pistachio praline an awesome flavour, never had it anywhere else in the world!
Love the fact they are open till 11pm. As always they are happy for you to sample the offerings. My favourite picks are lychee coconut, gianduia tastes like Nutella and chocolate fondant. Staff are friendly. Only wished they had more tables and chairs for customers to sit. Takes CC including Amex.
This place is always packed whenever I go past. Nice range of flavours, and great ideas for specials of the week. “The Dude” - hilarious. Big hit among friends too. Would love some more dairy-free options that aren’t sorbet though!
Served by a friendly girl. The shop was beautifully clean, and loved that there was a great variety in their range of dairy free options! The serve was a lot bigger than I anticipated, and really good value!
Someone told me Messina is arguably one of the best and I should give it at least one try. Glad I listened because I will be going back soon. PS: They let you taste before deciding "the one"
