The location of The Dock at East Shores is hard to beat however that’s one of its only selling points after visiting for breakfast on Sunday. The ordering system through the QR code is so so bad, in fact it’s the worst I’ve ever been asked to use. We ordered at the bar because it was next to impossible to find menu items through the mobile ordering system. Coffees took a long time and were delivered pretty staggered. Granted we had a table of eight however about 5 of them were also luke warm. Meals were expensive, small and pretty ordinary. I was thankful for the vegan options but omg if I’m paying for an overpriced smashed avo at least give me a full plate of it. The eggs benny appears to shrink in size each time. Wait staff appeared under trained - slow, cautious and unsure of themselves. It’s a casual dining environment but the staff didn’t instil a lot of confidence. Two stars may be harsh but it’s because I believe they can do a lot better.
Good food, prices and friendly staff. Also good options for vegetarians. The kids had popcorn chichen and curly fries sorry they started by the time I took he photo while the adults had calamari, Sobo Noldles, vegetarians tacos and a portion of curly fries. All food tasted great and it was more than we could eat between the 4 of us. They also have beer and ginger on tap to accompany the food. Enjoy!
A lovely place for lunch. I had the slow roasted sweet potato dish, the only vegan option on the lunch & dinner menu. I wish the restaurant had more options, but I must say that it was very good! It was delicious and filling! I would absolutely return if I lived in Gladstone.
Great place. Staff unbelievably friendly. Good coffee. Has pet friendly areas. Great outlook. My sample for the first day in Gladstone is “brilliant place for a late breaky or an early drink OR both,
Outstanding quality food and very friendly service. This place is a hidden gem in Gladstone and a must visit if you're passing through. Also has a great range of ice creams as well if you're not wanting a full meal.
Breakfast wasn't the best, the corn fritters were deep fried and the oil ran out of them and mine wasn't much better a soggy bun and oily potato hash brown on the breakfast burger. Normally have better meals here unsure what is going on. Tried to finish was not able to. Service was OK and the place was still nice and clean. I hope they pick up their game.
Such an amazing place to sit and have a sweet treat! The atmosphere is lovely and the food here is even better! Would 100% come back for those donuts alone!
Came here initially and had a reasonably bad experience. Though the chips were lovely the chicken burger was almost inedible. The crumb was burnt and tasted that way. The chicken was dried out and the coleslaw again was dry. The whole thing felt apart as soon you took one bite. Though we did come back and I adored my fish. Cooked perfectly and tasted great with a lovely flavoursome tartar sauce. Again the chips were lovely. Also opted for some gelato which was wonderful though my straciatella tasted of rum and raisin weirdly, with chocolate pieces. Not sure what happened there. Definitely a good place to go during a stop off at Gladstone but could certainly be improved on.
Creamy mocha was delicious. Partner had a very good latte as well.
Since the new owners took over recently, the cafe has had a huge turnaround! The staff are gorgeous and attentive, the menu is interesting and delightful, and the food quality is amazing and CONSISTENT. Best breakfast in town. If you were let down by how horrible The Dock was late last year, you HAVE to give it another go.
