For a lunch-spot in a resort bubble, Gecko ticked all the boxes and did it well. Freshly cooked meals of a good variety, down-to-earth service and clean tidy premises. You can tell this place is like a well-oiled machine using well-trained graduates from the in-house hospitality Academy. Prices on-par with the area, and we ate here two days in a row and found ourselves well-fed and satisfied with all the dishes we tried.

We had the antipasti and some kangaroo, emu pizza. The antipasti was the worst and most overpriced we have ever had. They had just opened some rather cheap supermarket salami, ham and tomato salad packages and put everything on a plate. The pesto might have been homemade, but it was rather bland and boring as well. The Turkish bread was definitely no Turkish bread. Maybe it was supposed to be Australian antipasti. Well, it was no success at all. The pizza was edible. Compared to the antipasti it was rather good. Unfortunately, it became quite soggy after a while on the plate. The ginger beer was also some tasteless sugar water. You do not have many restaurant options at the resort. There is no competition and you can taste this. Not worth the money. Rather buy some steaks and salad at the supermarket and cook your own food.

Food is tasty, reasonable for the area. Service was attentive but didn't feel friendly, barely any smiles and limited conversations. Nice venue and convenient location. We got 2 pizzas and a salad, spent about $80 to feed 3, no drinks.

Good food. Not pricy. Great service and no reservations needed.

Compared to other establishments in the area, Gecko's is above average. Ask for a table towards the front of the restaurant if you can, away from the bar area. Sadly they were not able to accommodate my request either time. Service staff seemed to be from their hospitality academy so these are not seasoned servers. Asked about the specials on my second visit since they were not mentioned to me previously and the server had to go look them up. During my two visits food was good. Pizza was some of the best we had in all of Australia! Granted I didn't visit many places where I would have expected pizza to be good. Their chicken pot pie on the specials menu was tasty. Their salads were good as well. Tried their sangria and it was well made.
