I don't eat out much so I don't have a lot to compare with but I was impressed with the place. The owner and staff were very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about their food and wine. There were six of us for dinner and we all enjoyed the experience. I don't live locally but my mate, who does, said he'll put it on his list for return visits. Parking: We parked in North Rd for free.
An amazing experience at Gauge Espresso & Bistro tonight: the food is exquisite, the service and care well above expectations! The atmosphere is very cosy and the chef and manager share without limit their love and knowledge of food and good wines. I definitely recommend for a romantic dinner!
This evening I had dinner at Gauge with family. The food was fantastic and the service was exception. We shared the Seared Tuna to start and I had the Steak Frites for main. Both were delicious with a genuine focus on quality and flavour. I especially enjoyed the authentic jus which had not been artificially sweetened unlike many others. The young gentleman that served us throughout the evening was easy going, interested and engaged in meaningful conversation. I would happily recommend Gauge.
Love Gauge Bistro. Our new favourite restaurant. It's like a slice of New York's West Village in downtown Ormond. Great service and vibe. Food is always excellent.
An incredible evening of fine dining and a great venue. A wonderful host who took the time to walk around, engage and offer opinions on wines. Gippsland sourced meat and beer amongst many other options. Highly recommended and looking forward to returning

Rippa little coffee stop, with very enjoyable coffee, a great atmosphere, and very entertaining host. Menu looks very enticing for an evening meal and will definately be heading back to give it a try soon.
Update about a decade later The coffee is still great but the place has tripled in size and is more focused on a fine dining experience... Which it absolutely delivers. Still a favourite. The best part about this place aside from the coffee is the guy who runs it. Never to busy to have a chat about almost anything. Order coffee once and you are an instant regular. Surprisingly dog, kid, and cyclist friendly but since the space is small it helps if you are comfortable sharing your space at the large table. No menus mean you have to pick from the display or ask about their specials.

Food was fresh and very tasty The young man waiting on our table tonight was delightful. Attentive but not annoying, chatty but not intrusive. Nailed it!
