I would just like to say what a pleasure it was dealing with Gateway Funerals. It was so daunting at the thought of organizing a funeral, but Emma just made our journey so easy with her compassion and care. She was just amazing. The streaming was just beautiful all the family in South Africa said it was so dignified. Gateway Funerals went over and beyond in helping us. I cannot fault them in anyway. We had entrusted Gateway Grant to assist us bid farewell to beloved members of our family since 1996 and were satisfied with the service the company provided. We did not hesitate to select your services again when my mother Mavis passed away. We were very pleased with the prompt efficient and compassionate manner in which Simon Lily and Lindsay carried out all our instructions for Mavis' funeral and wish to express our sincere thanks to them. Family and friends who were present were most impressed with your choice of singer and accompanist and those who could not attend have informed me that they appreciated viewing her funeral provided by Media House Media. Thank you, Gateway/Grant Funerals, for your efforts in arranging the recent chapel service and cremation for my mother Ena in only three business days. The service exceeded our expectations in all respects, including the live stream to family members overseas.
I would like to thank Gateway Funerals and their individual team members who have been involved in the funeral of our beloved mother, Mireille. From the care you have offered her during her passing to the journey of faith and then her final resting place. From the moment we learnt of our mother's death last week to the time of her funeral on Wednesday, Gateway have been there with us all the way. When mum passed away I was in complete shock. I did not know what to do or who to call as we did not have a plan if either one of my parents should pass away. So we started the process of searching funeral homes. I had seen the name before and they came highly recommended. I was not familiar with the process or the funeral home's role at the time of death. So we engaged the services of Gateway Funerals as their name sounded so appropriate as well. From the time our beautiful mum had passed to the time Gateway Funerals had taken her into their care it felt like we were in good hands and a huge weight had been lifted. It"s not easy to lose a loved one and it's even harder to lose your mother. When we chose Gateway we met with Judy and from that moment I knew things were going to be okay and I know our beloved mother would approve. Judy is compassionate, understanding, empathetic and just a beautiful person overall to work with. Her guidance and experience during the funeral preparations ftom picking the flowers to the casket was exceptional and seamless. It is a very hard time and to have that support around us meant the world to me and my family. Her attention to detail was outstanding. Thankyou Judy and the rest of the team who looked after our mum and made sure she got the beatiful send off she did on Wednesday 13th April, 2022. I would highly recommend Gateway Funerals. Simon, Loxley and the team at Gateway were very kind and understanding throughout the whole process. Simon went above and beyond with mum's burial, and we felt the whole process was smooth and worry free. The customer service was great from start to finish. Thank you all for your support through my and my family's tough time in losing mum.
I would highly recommend Gateway Funerals as they are very professional and at the same time extremely caring and truly intent on making the journey as easy for everyone however possible
The livestream of the service showed the tea and coffee room of the wrong funeral. We weren't able to attend in person, so were reliant on the livestream. Instead of showing my cousins funeral, it was silent film footage of a room that staff were setting up with tea and coffee. Not the room the actual service was being held in. Then about 10 minutes after the service was meant to start, a bunch of strangers appeared in the feed and started making tea and coffee and eating cake and chatting. It was someone else's wake. It wasn't even our funeral. We called through to Gateway, and the man we spoke to was super helpful, but wasn't on-site himself and could only call through to the team running the funeral. He spoke to the team on the ground to try and fix it, but they didn't succeed. It was extremely distressing to be watching silent footage of a bunch of strangers cheerfully chatting and drinking coffee whilst we were meant to be watching our loved one's funeral. Gateway called after the service concluded to update us on what happened -- apparently it was some kind of issue with their third party streaming partner. I think they might need to fire their current streaming partner and get a new one, cause this was beyond appalling, and hugely upsetting. You only get one go at a funeral. And we missed hers, due to a tech error.
DISTRAUGHT AND Upset, to have been linked to SOMEONE ELSES FUNERAL! Just horrified, to have sent the provided link to absent friends, and family abroad, only to be excluded from saying good bye to our very loved one Terri Anne, and also had to endure watching strangers, eating and drinking in a back room. I HAD expected 5 Star Gold rating from Gateway. But if you need your service streamed, go elsewhere. THE Tech is way below basic quality standards and is carelessly assembled....such that we got someone ELSES Funeral. We are Bereft.
