Can recommend both, the physical store and the online shop. I recently ordered several games from them. The order was process and delivered quickly without any problems. The games arrived in excellent condition. Will order from them again and also visit the Pitt Street store when I‘m back in Sydney
Quite expensive and the staff member who manned the counter was rude. They refused to price match local Sydney stores so you are 90% better off shopping else. However, their selection of games was very good!
Excellent service. I saw some reviews that had me worried ordering from them. I bought 3 games over the Christmas period that were fulfilled and shipped within 24hrs so couldn't be happier.
Not trustworthy. Pricey. If I can give Negative Stars, I would. Visit their Sydney store on a weekend 2 weeks ago to buy one item because I don't wanna pay $10.95 shipping. The item that I want costs $19.95. As I browse through the store, I cannot find what I was looking for. I got my phone from my wallet, went to their website and approached the guy at the counter and showed him the item that I want. The guy checked his computer and told me that they didn't have the item in the store but they have it in their warehouse and can get it in store in 2 to 3 days. Asked me if I can come back in a few days in store if I wanna get it. Told him I can only come back on a weekend coz I'm working on weekdays. He told me he can put it aside for me for the weekend. Went there last weekend to buy it, got surprised that the item price tag is now $35 compared to $19.95 on their website. Had a word with the guy, asked him what's goin on that's he's just wasting my time and its not fair. Drive 40 minutes to get there, rain was pissin all day. Guy apologize and told me something like the warehouse has a different owner. I was spewin but calm, I really didn't understand what's his explanation was. $19.95 become $35 so even if you add a $10.95 shipping it only costs $31 which is still cheaper. If the guy tells me that its gonna cost $35 for me to buy it instore then I wouldn't have bothered. Beware of this store. They are not even cheaper compare to other stores with the same stocks on most of their items. This review is for the Sydney store only.
Very helpful, advice for different types of games to suit your style and ages. So many different types of games in store.
Broad selection of games in all categories. Excellent friendly service. Regular email updates.
Big selection of board games and tabletop RPG. The gent behind the counter was knowledgeable and very friendly. Stop by and have a chat.
Edit: I called the store who sent an email to the online store. My emails were in their junk box. The expansion I had ordered had been over sold and they gave me a refund. It's a bit unacceptable that I needed to point out to them that I didn't receive the product to receive any action. Either way, I now have a refund for the product that I didn't receive. I ordered two items online. I received emails telling me the two items were sent in the one package. When the package arrived there was only one item in it. I've sent two emails, three business days between them to allow response time, and I haven't received a reply. I received an email from Games Paradise to leave them a review and advising that supposedly my opinion matters. My experience of Games Paradise has been very poor. I doubt my opinion matters to them as I haven't received any contact from them. Anyway, today my partner is getting half their birthday present. Fingers crossed that Games Paradise contacts me so I can get the other half that I have paid for from them.
Store isn't always open at the posted times. Parking is impossible, which combined with the fact you won't know if they'll actually be open makes buying from here stressful. That said if you need a game same day, this is the best place to go. Staff are friendly, and knowledgeable. Bit pricey compared to online but that's what you pay for same-day convenience
Online experience I buy a fair few board games online, but usually steer away from these guys because of their bad reputation. However a friend on mine bought me a voucher from them as a gift, so I got the pleasure of using these guys again. Firstly my friend told me he had lots of trouble actually getting the voucher from them after he had paid, with them giving the excuse that the system was having issues/trouble. I ordered a sale item, which before applying the voucher was approx $140 discounted. One thing that really annoyed me was that if you use a voucher you don't qualify for their free shipping i.e. if the final price you pay after applying a voucher goes below their free shipping threshold of $89 they will still charge you for shipping. I thought that was pretty poor because a voucher is essentially cash, but I couldn't be bothered trying to argue the point. After I ordered, I then got an email from them explaining why it would take them so long to send the game to me after I had already paid of course. Never mind their terms and conditions say 80% of their games ship the next day, and within 1-4 business days. They shipped it after 7 business days. Using any other online board game seller means you will get the game faster and often cheaper I could have bought the same game from another site for $20 cheaper, despite the sale and would have got it much quicker. They really need to lift their game if they want to compete online. Maybe I expect too much, but almost every other retailer I buy from ships same or next day. The packaging they used wasn't great either, although on a positive note the game did arrived intact hence the 2 stars instead of 1.
