Funkey Monkey Cafe at Lakes Entrance is a solid choice for a meal in a tourist spot. Prices are reasonable, the food portions are generous and tasty, and the coffee is smooth and served quickly. However, the wait time for food was long, especially during our brunch visit on a public holiday.nnOne thing to note: we were initially seated at a four-seat table, but when a two-seat table became free, we were asked to move. Unfortunately, no assistance was offered to carry our coffee, water, and cakes over. Interestingly, by the time we left, the original four-seat table still hadn’t been taken. We’re happy to help with seating efficiency but would appreciate if moves are only requested when necessary or with a bit more assistance. Overall, a nice spot with good food, just room for a little more customer care.
Very impressed with the foods. The fried chicken burger portion is massive. And generous in the chicken size too. My sweet potato fritters werent as big but the sauce that came with it was beautiful.
What hidden delight! Funky Monkey’s granola is to die for with fresh fruit and a silky coconut panacotta. The coffee was great as well.nnThe staff were friendly and welcoming, even to the point of checking if we had any dietary requirements. So impressed. Will need to go back and try the Sweet Potato Fritters.
We had breakfast here after parkrun and before we got back on the road to Melbourne.nThe menu looked good online and it didn’t disappoint. The food was super fresh and delicious and coffee you could stand your spoon in!nI had the sweet potato fritters and poached eggs - not something I have had before but was really tasty.nThe staff were extremely friendly.nIf I lived locally I think this would be a regular breakfast haunt!
It offers a selection of food, featuring classic dishes with a bit of regional fusion.nnWe enjoyed their breakfast menu, unfortunately, we had to enjoy it from outside. Nonetheless, the coffee was a good brew and kept us warm until the meals were served.nnSurprisingly, I liked the chocolate chip more than my salmon Focaccia bread toastie. It did have a good blend of flavours and textures.
