Nice fish and chips but very greasy. Had to remind the staff to give us the tartare sauce that we had paid an extra $4 for. Asked for chicken salt and was given normal salt and it was over salted. Reasonable wait time but they weren’t busy. Good portion size. Calamari and fish were both well cooked and tasted great but had fallen apart. They also have no phone so you can’t make phone orders if you want to avoid sitting and waiting on a hot and busy day and no menus to take. Friendly staff.
The best calamari and sweet potato fries I’ve had in a long time! Friendly staff and big portions, would definitely come back. You do have to pay extra for ketchup and condiments, but can’t complain when the food is this good Almost didn’t come here because of the low rating, but then realized the low reviews were from rude anti-maskers who gave bad ratings without even trying the food — ignore those and try this spot!
We 2 people got the seafood basket plus fish and could hardly finish it, because it came many chips. The seasoning was delicious and everything crispy. I was surprised about the reasonable price of the food in a beachtown and the portion size. The people running the place were super nice.
Ordered my food waited 30 mins with lots of other orders coming out before mine which had been ordered well after. Got my food and chips were cold they had been sitting waiting for the rest of my food chicko roll and seafood stick. Told them chips were cold and they argued with me. Got new ones and when we got to our room they were poor quality and not much there. Who even uses sliced cheese on chips cheese and gravy. This is $10 chips. And get a phone number so people can call and place orders to pick up.
Way too much salt on the meal. Paid $10 for an extra piece of fish and didn't get it. Crab stick and one of the fish pieces were overcooked. Spent $85 all up. Enjoy it, you won't be getting anymore from me.
I had a Seafood basket... The Goodish - loads of chips and salt. The Bad - never have I seen a smaller piece of fish one bite basically plus 2 calamari, a scallop, prawn, two thumb sized seafood sticks. Not even a small piece of lemon. $18 is a bad value deal, look elsewhere.Food: 2/5
Pretty good fish and chips...cooked to order. Decent price and abundant servicing sizes. Chips were also hot and crunchy. There are a few tables out front or you can take your meal 5 mins down the road to the beach. Will definitely be going back the next time we are in the area.
Ordered battered whiting 2 servings and received 3 battered and 2 crumbed. Our wait for our Ordered which was not big at all took 45min. Girls behind the counter seamed more interested in socials on there phones rather than getting into cooking the food. But the most concerning was the food handling health and safety practises. All kids were touching there hair and faces while handling food without gloves. We observed one young Fella eating left over chips out of the chip bowl. Also the lack of organisation added to the wait time. Rather disappointing experience considering the food wasn't the worst I've eaten.
Very disappointed with how degrading the food has gotten. Couldn't get a burger because they had no buns which I understand that you do run out but there has been a repetitive pattern of what food does and doesn't run out. The seafood baskets had more chips than seafood, the normal nice big pieces of fish are now the size of a chicken tender and the basket isn't as full as it used to be. All of the food has a fishy kind of taste to it and very oily. The chicken was overcooked and dry and the salad wasn't very appetising. Will be going else where for my seafood for now on.
For years I’ve been taking groups to Rainbow Beach. I would love to be able to send them to eat here but for years you close at dinner time! Advertised close time is 7pm and at 6.45pm dinner time you say you’re done? I’m done! Shame Just replying to your reply… I get that you employ school kids that’s great but you’re advertised to be open until 7pm. We arrived not as a big group just 3 of us at 6.45pm and we’re told that you were closed. If I knew you would stay open later I would bring you the whole group. We go to watch the sunset at the Sandblow and rush to make it to yours before you close and you close literally at dinner time. Maybe employing a backpacker who can work later might work better? Honestly been burned too many times over the years to go back, I wish you well but I’ve always got the impression like you guys just want to get out of there once the sun goes down.
