A short note to let Brian know I am pleased with the work he did on my S-Style low end guitar - the action up and down the fretboard is significantly smoother. Thank you Brian. Regards Tony
These blokes need no introduction, they know there stuff!! Highly recommended by me that's for sure.
When dropped off my Strat for a warranty repair I was told about “a week”. I thought great, that’s perfect as the guitar was required for a gig 11 days later. So 10 days goes by and I hear nothing back. This is now well after a “week” as first stated at drop off It is now the following Friday and I call them first thing in the morning maybe they had just forgotten to let me know it was ready The guy I spoke to said he hadn’t even gotten to it yet and would “look at it” today and message me in the afternoon for when it was ready to be picked up”. So then 4:30pm rolls around knowing they close at 5pm, I had still not received a message or even an update. So I call them again and the guy says he still hasn’t looked at it yet!! I understand that things can get away from you as a business owner but you are a shop dealing with equipment that is someone’s livelihood and source of income. For a simple switch issue I wouldn’t expect it to take nearly two weeks or longer as it is still not fixed and if there is something holding things up that is out of your control is to at least provide an update to your customers and not give them false promises. This would have given me ample time to organise other arrangements.
Purchased a guitar sight unseen from interstate which is something I don't like doing. I really want to see and play a guitar in person before buying. Well the guys at FretCo really helped me along with honest accurate descriptions of the guitar and additional photos and quickly answering any silly question my mind would come up with. Down to the guitar being very securely packaged. It arrived quickly and it's even better than I'd hoped for. Highly recommended.
In 1996 I had my first experience with Fretco when Brian installed a Pair of Seymour Duncan's in my Les Paul. 26 Years have passed and in that time I have had numerous Guitars, and even today I would not trust anyone but Brian West to work on my Guitars.
I've been bringing my guitars here for years; wouldn't trust anyone else. They always provide good advice and do professional work. They keep a good stock of parts and on occasion have been able to replace broken parts on the spot.
$150 for full service of my 85 telecaster, including replacing a threaded tremelo bar frame. Maybe a bit of attitude during the dropoff, but great at pickup. I guess it depends who you get behind the counter. Great work, decent price. I've paid more for worse work elsewhere.
Changed my mind, yes Brian promised my bass by a certain date, and that didn’t happen, then i rang and he forgot it, but outside of that, the job i asked for was done well and the price was $2 cheaper than quoted, so I’m swallowing the proverbial humble pie, by saying yes you may have to wait a few days longer but it was worth the wait, good job definitely recommend them.
The guys at Fretco did some work on a couple of my guitars now. The staff and owners are nice people unbelievable quality of work. I was very happy and will be going back with more of my guitars.
Took my guitar in for a service, as I had some fret buzz. Picked it up a week later guitar was in way worse shape, questioned the workmanship and was asked to bring it back. A few more days pass and was told it was all fixed. No change, buzzing everywhere, unplayable. Biggest disappointment came with being told twice it was fixed when it clearly was not. If you can’t fix it just say that, don’t take my money and lie. Will never go back.
