People are mad to give such mixed reviews. Their little treats are often dairy free and gluten free and are SENSATIONAL! A total highlight of my visit to Brisbane. I’m addicted.
A little bakery tucked in the Standard grocery! All the bake goods looks yummy and pretty. I bought the lemon meringue and I think it tasted a little too sweet for my liking. Not sure if I would like to try the savoury bake goods.
Best cupcake ever! I'm not gluten free but those cupcakes really set the bar for any cupcake standard. They don't use refined sugar and the taste was so light, flavourful and satisfying. The service was friendly and very helpful. A lovely experience all round.
Everything in the window looks amazing but its really hit and miss. I've had some nice stuff but also a few times the beignets were soggy and more than once the croissants have tasted like they're a few days old. I wish it was as great as it looks!
Best sausage roll I've had so far!! The sourdough bread was nice and fresh and the vegetarian quiches were pretty good too and staff were friendly havn't tried other stuff yet but will try next time if we even get a parking..
Not worth it. Same tasteless, boring, mass produced foods you can get at any other bakery for half the price. The spinach and feta roll I bought today was so tasteless, thin and stone cold. Same cheap recipe as other lazy bakeries. For the ridiculous prices they charge they could put some effort into quality. My comments are only about the bakery. Staff there could also put some effort into speed during busy weekends. There was about 15 people waiting to be served today and a lady ended up snarling at them to hurry up and pick up their game. Well said.
this is the best bread in Brisbane ... especially the Miche sourdough .... charcoal activated is also great. Fresh and delicious
Best bread in Brisbane. Tried many of their breads and so far, Happy with most of them.Owner and staff are friendly and professional. Keep up the good job.
I haven’t tried everything but I have been coming to this bakery fore more than 5 years. Honestly the best bread in Brisbane. Good vegan cakes as well. Pricy but worth it.
I came to James Street Bakery a few month ago and bought a chicken sandwich. I have asked for the sandwich to be toasted but it was still cold inside, very dry because of a lack of sauce and overall not very tasty. I have decided to give an other chance and came for pastries this time. What they call a brownie is a kind of tasteless chocolate ganache made with a poor quality chocolate. I won’t give an other chance for sure and will stay away from this shop.
