I am a regular customer to this shop but will never enter it again, Many of the price labels are missing, last week I bought something and checked the price label then found it different when paying at the cashier, simply I was asking the cashier about the price difference then the answer was "we don't know" Who should I ask?!! The ladies at the cashier doesn't know anything about customer service, they always asking me to pull all goods I bought infront of her as the conveyor belt is not working, this is always happens not only once. The total price of goods I am buying always between $120 -$180 weekly, I have to move all my purchases infront of the cashier because the belt is not working and at the end they threw my purchases majority food as if they put in a rubbish bin. I used to enjoy shopping from this place but from now on I will never enter it. Another point, Lakemba branch always have a trolleys but at Yagoona branch never find it. Hope the message is delivered to the owner or the supervisor responsible for this shop.
This was Foodworks Supermarket, but they very sneakily closed that Google location to get rid of all the bad reviews most of which seem to have come in recently, rather than changing the property name. The owner seems to have missed the point. Privately owned or not, the supermarket for many years has served the community. Now it only serves a portion of the community. Ergo, our yearly spend has gone from $5000-$7000, to about $40 per month, if that. Sad. ********* This supermarket, in my opinion, has gone from a 5 star rating down to 1! New owners again, but this time, it seems like a lot of the "normal" stock range has been reduced, with some lines removed altogether. Now some random Jordanian **IMPORTED** brand called "Durra" is all over the place. Much of the fruit which USED to be great quality is now just so-so. And keeping blueberries and strawberries in plastic containers not refrigerated, yeah, no thanks. Be careful of the refrigerated areas too where the butter etc is. Multiple times I've found the refrigeration had been turned off, and butter etc has been warm and soft. I find it oddly suspicious that with these new owners, a lot of the products which have disappeared contain ham. EG, pizzas, pasta sauce, etc. Feel free to correct me on that if I am wrong, but you're supposed to serve the whole community, just not a sub-section of the community. FYI, I don't eat ham, but many people do. Keep an eye on so-called "specials" too. Look at the normal price label behind it. Slapping a "special" label on top of a normal price label is not kosha, according to the ACCC. Now, that said, they have made a lot of improvements to the checkout area etc, but somehow it still doesn't seem to work as smoothly as the way the old one was set up. ********* This is my original review of Foodworks: This supermarket has improved with each successive new owner. The current management is friendly and very helpful. Staff are also good. The change from IGA to Foodworks did not make much of a difference. The range is pretty good, and there are often some handy specials. Just keep an eye on prices; sometimes errors occur on labels, but that's pretty normal I've found in supermarkets. Plenty of convenient parking out the back.
I had a visit last week They have good service and good quality product. I love to buy nuts from this shop as I found them fresh and tasty .
My local grocer. I previously bad to drive to Lakemba to the other store, but now they've opened up in Yagoona. Love the quality, the range and also very affordable. Thanks for being a one stop shop! :
I bought a product yesterday and when I opened it today, I found it’s musty however the expire date still shows April 2023. It is bad experience, cheap price but they give you the leftovers… I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT
Inside is so unwelcoming, staff are not friendly or customer focused. The shopping trolleys inside belong to other supermarkets in the local area. Only use this place as last resort
Best supermarket best service best prices abou raad best management
New owners have done wonders much better than when it was Foodworks. Fresh fruit, variety nuts and olives. Prices are really good. My main negative are: Limited trolley A2 milk is not always in stock Can't get cash out from efpos. Main Positive: Friendly & good service Fruits & vegetables super fresh. Very good price. Easy parking
Gross. Purchased a terracotta pan meant to be used for the stovetop/oven from this place, first use on the stove and it cracked. Called the store to ask if a refund or replacement could be arranged and was greeted by a lady who didn't know what a terracotta pan was, she passed the phone to her colleague without muting herself bless her, and told her to "deal with this lady she's got attitude". Right. Common knowledge that it's poor form to badmouth customers when they are in earshot, but alas this next lady was no more helpful as apparently they don't offer exchanges or refunds on faulty products. When pressed further she checked with her boss, who helpfully said "we've never had any problems with those pans so we can't offer a refund"....right. I mean could you be more thick? The crack must be a trick of the light or something, judge for yourself the photos are attached. This is aside from the fact that it smelt so disgusting when we first opened it that we had to open all the doors and windows to air out the house for a whole day, and deep soak the pan in hot water and soap just so we didn't all gag when it was in the same room as us. Pathetic.
Not a bad store but need to rectify situation at registers, its way too tight, messy and people lining up everywhere, pushing in and no care from staff. Need to have a single line system into registers so its fair for everyone and can manage social distancing. The aisles at times are too messy or filled with stock trolleys and staff and I just avoid buying certain things because no one seems to be in a hurry to move them.
