My mother and my aunt booked a holiday to Nusa Dua, Bali through Joy at Escape Travel Mountain Creek. A worldwide traveler, however my mother had never been to Bali before which is the reason she went through an agency. My mother requested a resort within easy walking distance to the beach as my aunty is recovering from an accident and requires a walking stick. Other than that they wanted somewhere with easy access to shops and somewhere with a nice pool. Joy personally recommended the Swiss BelHotel, claiming she has stayed there herself. She assured my mum it was an easy 12 minute walk to the beach and had a great pool. 
Upon arrival my mum soon discovered that the bathroom taps were broken, as was the tv. The entire room and hotel was filthy including the sheets, toilet etc. The hotel advised them that they had limited water tanks, which meant not enough hot water for one hot shower, let alone two. The pool was not fit for swimming as the walls were full of algae. The entire resort looked completely different to the photos she was provided, and discovered it was a 10 minute drive to the beach as opposed to an easy 12 minute walk. 
I contacted Joy first thing the following morning to advise her that my mum and aunty would be checking out immediately, and what could be done to arrange a refund. The only solution I was offered by Joy was a room upgrade which did not solve the false advertising of the hotel itself. I was very disappointed that they were unable to help me in any way and kept insisting it was up to the hotel. I do understand this but don’t believe staff should be recommending and personally vouching for such hotels if they are not prepared to take responsibility for them, at least in part. 
Travel agencies are a dying field as online bookings and advice by real travelers are significantly more effective, and cheaper! My mum made one last attempt to seek a professional for a recommendation of a place she had never been. It will definitely be the last time. I urge anyone using the service at Escape Travel Mountain Creek to seek advice, bookings or reviews online or elsewhere, as customer service and accountability do not exist there.

I deal with Dane and he is so amazing. He listens to your needs, but also suggests other options. I have recommended Dane to all my family & friends as Dane makes dreams come true with no hassles or dramas as he will deal with them for you. Thank you Dane for organising our first family holiday overseas with our 2 babies :)
