Gene and Marianne are excellent hosts, everything is supplied and their attention to detail is fantastic. I have had the pleasure of seeing The Flaxes develop over the last few years and it's been a steady improvement to the point where it has become a real asset for groups to consider for a safe, quiet and comfortable getaway. Every time I leave I look forward to coming back. The kids love the massive rope seeing and feeding the eels in the river, the parents love the cool evenings having a yarn around the brazier or relaxing on the couches. Definitely worth a look, stop by sometime and say hello.

Lovely peaceful  retreat on the banks of the Shag River .....you can get a group together and have the whole place to yourselves,cabin accommodation available...kayaks, only 45 minutes drive from Dunedin ....
