I recently moved to Melbourne and came here on a 1 day trial to explore the gyms in the area. I was very impressed with the facility and the staff were so friendly. A well deserved platinum gym with a great location in the city center. The sauna and steam room were an added bonus which were the perfect finisher to an intense workout!
I'm kind of a journeyman with gyms. I've have been training in them for 30+ years now. I've trained at gyms in various parts of the world: US, Europe, Asia, and, for the last four years, also in Australia. I've experienced high end, gritty, basic, and plenty of gyms somewhere in between, so I have a bit of experience with training at various types of gyms. I've been going to Fitness First FF for around six months now. First and foremost, I enjoy the overall positive energy inside a FF facility. The equipment is decent. Both the gym itself and locker rooms are clean. The staff are professional and friendly. Upon entry to the facility, I'm greeted by a staff member - a staff member that is approachable. In case I have a question or need anything, a conversation can easily be established. I look forward towards training at FF facility. Anecdotally, it seems that the majority of other members inside a FF are from a younger demographic which adds to the energy. To me, a gym that has positive energy / good atmosphere is more important than the equipment itself. At the gym, I bring a towel, pretty good attitude I think, and try to be a decent citizen. Usually, if I feel pretty good and motivated prior to my workout then my post workout sets me up for the rest of my day - especially after the endorphins kick in. Training at a gym, like anything else that involves lots of other people - either working with them or just being in the general vicinity of them - is usually what you make of it. I'm glad I made the decision to join FF.
Absolutely love coming to this gym. They have a great range of equipment and it’s easily accessible from the train station or with the two free hour parking. The staff are also so welcoming and approachable. Just a generally great atmosphere that makes me excited to train at a gym.
Francesco Ravanelli is by far the best trainer I ever had. I have gotten so much stronger working with him. He keeps the workouts challenging and fun, and his enthusiasm keeps me going!! He’s incredibly knowledgeable and also has a very warm and engaging personality.
Francesco is a professional, extremely well prepared and attentive PT. After trying a few different PTs and not seeing any results, finally he was able to help me to take my game to the next level. His training is challenging yet enjoyable and I always look forward to a chat and a laugh during our sessions. My performance playing has improved tremendously and I wake up each day with more energy than ever. Thank you Francesco for improving my health, fitness and overall lifestyle!
My husband and I were loyal members for 7 years. We cancelled our membership in person due to moving interstate over a month ago. We continue to be charged and when we phoned the club we were informed the membership was new cancelled. They informed me we wouldn't be charged again, but we have been charged again including additional late fee charges. When I contacted them for the third time, I received a message stating our accounts were cancelled. We have tried everything we can to cancel our membership and it seems no one will cancel it for us! Absolutely appalling!
I left a bad review last time and stopped going to that gym for almost three months. Recently I came back and the service is much better, improved a lot and I felt so motivated by this that I even started my process with a PT there. Definitely changing my review now
All the equipment is like the gym in the hood. The club manager takes feedback and throws it into bins. Mats are like 200 years old. What is platinum about the club is rusted barbells and weights. The online timetable will only show classes that can be covered by the manager. Always misses listing to weekend yoga because he can’t cover it. Raised soo many feedback. New equipment is coming in December 2022. Platinum pricing with zero standard . Been member since 2008 and the managers had been worst ever. The current club manager behaves as if he is paying me to come. the group fitness manager responds: If you ain’t happy with the club then why don’t you Try going to other location. I am not happy with him covering all the classes. Monday pump in until 6:15 pm and yoga starts at 6 pm. Soo what a great timetable. What a great way to treat your customers? If you can’t accept feedback and make changes then don’t bother replying. Such a poorly managed club
Never knew it’ll be so difficult to cancel my membership. Tried calling several times and sent a few emails yet not response. I signed up bc Tracy said I could cancel anytime within the 7 days grace period, she was friendly and responsive until I wanted out.
I signed up my son for gym membership at Fitness First Melbourne Central, however he wasn't utilising the gym and so we decided to cancel it mid-way. FF staff communications was very bad and they did not inform the cancellation fees earlier. Had we know it earlier, we would have cancelled it immediately and just pay the nominal cancellation fees vs serving the weekly gym membership fees until now. Secondly, the PT at FF over-charged my son by 4 sessions, it was automated payments which we didn't realise earlier. I requested for intervention from FF management, however they mentioned that the agreement is solely between us as customer with the Personal Trainer only, they can't do anything. Extremely disappointed with Fitness First! Btw, my son is a minor, underage person.
