Fish and chips, no fuss. Wait times during the day here are pretty good, it is usually just not particularly crowded on this side of town so that makes sense. Chips are solid, cooked correctly, satisfying. Fish batter not overly thick, pretty standard level of batter, a little greasy as a result but as expected. Some varieties of fish - barramundi and sea perch on top of the standard lot. Grilled if that's your thing. Have I had better? Yes. If I have a craving will this hit the spot? Yes. Service is quick, brief, not much to and fro and that suits me fine.
If you don't mind the noise of the traffic going by then this is the near perfect place for an evening cafe meal. Grilled boneless fillet with chips and salad $13. Home orders and pick up, yes. There were some of these while I consumed my meal the $13 fish that is. I generous serving.
Came here for the fish, I ended up also ordering the burger for $8 which turned out to be the highlight. Excellent burger, soft bun, scrumptious patty, fresh toppings. I tried the fish and chips which was great as well as the mixed grilled fish platter. And although the mussels were over done and the grilled fish fillet soggy, the flavours were good.
I made an delivery order through deliveroo and the delivery time is fast, food tastes good but they missed one item though the platform refunded me promptly. However they didn't even make a second delivery for the missed grilled fish& chips, so sad for not having it, and is it the way you treat the first-time customer? Thanks and no order from me anymore.
Awesome no frills local fish & chip shop. Fast & friendly service. Fish has a nice & crispy batter with crunchy chips at a decent price. Will definitely come back here next time I crave fish & chips! Keep up the good work
I appreciate poor customer service in this country, really do. I don’t expect people to grovel or act like servants. That would be awkward & revolting. When the owner of the business is standing out the back cleaning, you have to shout for attention & their unwilling to answer questions; different story. I wanted something quick & cheap; was treated like I was doing them a service rather then vice versa. Food generally good; aside from chips & Calamari oddly worst calamari in Sydney when all other seafood here pretty good Which was final insult; got home with take away order, calamari instead of fish. Plus no taftatr sauce which I’d specifically asked & paid for. Disppointing Worst end to 60hrs work in 3 days when tired & starving
OK the grilled barramundi was good. The problem was we ordered one grilled one battered. Where was the sauce tartare promised? The chips were awful. But the worst thing about this place is the bad attitude. Never again
Decent fish with proper batter, and the chops were the fat slow cooked type which if your English you know exactly what I mean. Not too mention it was great value, fish and chips for only $9! I hate Sydney inner city but what a fantastic chippy... Certainly deserves five stars.
Small, minimalist restaurant with very reasonable prices and slightly above-average food. The fish was a little overcooked but the portions were pretty generous. There are a variety of items to choose from the menu.
I’ve ordered via Uber Eats numerous times and have always been happy with my food. The portions are very generous and the prices are cheap! I highly recommend the salt & pepper squid, chips & salad. A big fan of the tempura prawns too! Some constructive feedback, they need to pay closer attention to sauces. Although the food is perfect, the sauces are either missing or the wrong flavour.
