First-class selection of the latest releases, an impressively large amount of stock of both classic recordings and obscure collector's items, and extremely knowledgable and helpful staff who clearly love music. The only classical recording store in Sydney and wonderfully centrally-located. It should be too good to be true- but it is actually there!
One of the great music stores of Australia. If you like classical and jazz, this is the place. Friendly, expert knowledge and a great range. What more do you want, how about prices competative with Amazon. You owe yourself a visit.
One of the best places left in the City region for Classic music. A large collection of available CD music, and some DVD items. Very pleasant staff keen to assist, and music can be ordered if not in stock.
Great range of fine music. Walked in here the other day looking for a particular CD. Asked the guy at the counter, he knew where it was and plenty about it too despite it being a pretty niche item. Quick and easy, paid eftpos. Online store had good search functionality too which seemed to accurately match store stock. Short walk from Town Hall Station.
I do not find the prices of CDs in this store attractive, even after shipping costs, I can get much cheaper CDs from Amazon, especially Amazon UK. Also the store need to keep up with times and offer albums to purchase and download to smartphones. With the arrival of Amazon in Australia, I doubt I will be shopping in this store at all. I have bought quite a lot of CDs from this store when they were at QVB, and I was struck by how rude the shop assistant was when I tried to buy a discounted CD for $5 and was met with an attitude saying the minimum purchase price using card was $10. I have no issues if I was told of this information politely or if this was displayed clearly at the cash register. There was also another occasion I was quoted a very high price for a box set as a special order, only to find the same box set discounted with plenty left several months later. After these events, I discovered Amazon, and my weekly visit to the store ceased. Not only I saved time and money to travel to city I also saved money on my CD purchases. I think if the store want to be successful, it needs to offer something that Amazon cannot offer, such as very rare collections that cannot be found elsewhere. Pricing is also important, why would a customer want to pay more for exactly the same item?
A Woderful Oasis To Find Good Music on CD let alone a great collection of DVDs of Music, Opera, Ballet, Stage Plays plus the odd Golden Oldie!
Wonderful store for classical music and jazz. I got an excellent SACD today Loads of bargains and very knowledgeable staff.
A real classic - if you fancy and enjoy the "classics" this is the place to come to . And if you don't find it the knowledgeable and experienced staff will make sure that you can get it even the most tricky ones . How much we need this kind of business .
very wide repertory of classical music. Especially wonderful for Australian virtuoso, early music. Unique to sell attached booklets.
I live on the Sunshine Coast I ring and order my CDs they then post them to me. Always friendly staff who go out of their way to source recordings.
