"We are a licensed cafe located in Whangarei CBD, in a cobbled lane away from passing vehicles.We specialize in fresh, healthy and tasty Israeli food which has something for most dietary requirements, from vegie to vegan, gluten or dairy free, to the meat lover.Open from 9am to 9pm 7 days a week, we only close on Christmas day and New Years Day, we open long weekends with no surcharge added.Our breakfasts are unparalleled and should not be missed, our humus and falafel are perfection and addictive. Awesome cafe, amazing food, super friendly staff. We stopped here on Boxing Dad, and this was a great find! The food was absolutely delicious, the best pita ever. And a great selection of cakes with excellent coffee.

I am glad I found this little busy cafe hidden in a lane, food on the menu look good with some healthy option, like vegetarian and gluten free. Quite big portion, but delicious. You should give it a try if you are in Whangarei, strongly recommend. Service is good too!
A great cafe in a quiet cobbled pedestrian area. The vegetarian omelette was the best I've had in a while and came with a salad and 4 different condiments Mediterranean style.
Pleased we found this restaurant but sadly so much was missing out of the meal. Delicious food. Great location and vibe. Really enjoyed our dinner. Authentic food. Try the special platter if you can't choose. Vegetarian options: Best ever falafel. Excellent selection of delicious salads. Kid-friendliness: Kid schnitzel meal was perfect.
I have eaten loads of shwarma in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv - the chicken shwarma pita pocket at the Fat Camel is right at the top as a bona-fide contender for the "most flavoursome chicken shwarma" category. It's not cheap by any means, but the quality of the marinade they coat the chicken pieces in is most certainly worth the price! Maximize your dining pleasure : dine-in and slowly chew each mouthful to savour the layered complexity of sour cream, veggies and meat, encapsulated by the jus-absorbing pita. טעים ! Delicious, quality Israeli food right in the heart of Whangarei in the most cozy, charming little pedestrian alleyway. I enjoyed my chicken shawarma dinner very much — it was tasty and the portion was hearty for the price. The Israeli coffee was also fantastic and I enjoyed my peppermint tea. The baklava could use a little work — a bit on the dry side and quite dense, it should be sticky and gooey with honey like traditional baklava. The service was a bit lackluster, but overall I liked the food and I’d definitely return the next time I’m in Whangarei.
A real surprise find. Had morning tea there , and enjoyed so much returned an hour later for lunch, beautifully cooked and delicious. Staff friendly and helpful. Loved the camel on the coffee. J & R from Tauranga Vegetarian options: Good selection
Best ever home-made authentic Israeli falafel! It is a great mix of veggies, herbs and pickled touch. Decent serving. Place with a heart, beautiful faces. I come over every time when I am in Whangarei. Strongly recommend.
