Market is very cute! I love how the vendors carry only Tasmanian grown products. It's a very small stretch with quite a bit to see, but could be covered within 20mins I reckon!nnAs a tourist, would probably give it a miss next time, as produce isn't cheap and I'm unlikely to cook as well. However a nice experience for a first time!
As a tourist, unless I had my own place to cook my own food, this place is only good if you wanted to drink some coffee, eat some nice breakfast.nnMostly selling local produce. Has this local butchery. Ben's butchery. Really excellent meats and all from his farm. He made the sausages and smoked the meats himself. Also has fresh meat. Do go and look for him. So friendly and so knowledgeable!
Vibrant and compact little market, quite a few eating options, some unique different food and drink items, fantastic fresh vegetables and some fruit as well. - a very friendly, relaxed vibe, the market extends down both a street that adjoins with groovy cafes and gift shops, as well as a sort of open lane way with more food options. This market is open Sundays. This is recommended by the lovely owner of the accommodation I stayed. The bacon egg sandwich was really good as he recommended! Also the chocolate brownie was very good too. Local veggies are so fresh. Salamanca market is much bigger than this, but this is very locally produced and homely market I really liked.
The farm gate markets showcase amazing fresh produce from locally sourced farmers. There is fresh fruit and vegetables, plants, honey and obviously food stalls. There is a huge selection of food including burgers, baos, rolls, I got the fried mushrooms with spices for a slight kick, and a few high quality coffee vendors. Worth the visit on a Sunday
