Empress of India? More like Embarassment of India. 1. First impressions - Dodgy as; felt like I was gonna get stepped out there. The place was a mess; It looked dirty, there was a dark corner with an employee suspiciously pacing back & forth on a phone call and there was a pot plant filled with rubbish just sitting in the corner. 2. Customer Service - Poor. You'll get no direction for where the line is. They're very slow; After waiting almost half an hour, I was given the wrong order luckily I checked first 3. Food - Horrendous/appalling/disgusting! I ordered Chicken Korma and Fried Rice. The Korma was thicker than oatmeal in an old-age home. The chicken was dry and it tasted expired. You can tell there was zero love and care put into it. I woke up at 4am the next morning feeling nauseated and couldn't sleep again. Conclusion: I was in Auckland for one day only and was sorely disappointed wasting my precious time and money there. The state of the place and the bad service should've been a red flag immediately. Next time I will check and take the 1 star reviews more seriously.
Just opposite to BP on the other side of the road. Customer service is good?? Tht u will find out. But for me, was just very average. If you are after Indian food after 9pm, this is one of the few options around Manurewa. But they close by 10pm.. But food taste ok
Indian food is one of my fave comfort food so I tried to buy some dishes here on my way home from work. Customer service is okay-ish, the place is quite busy around the time i dropped by, waiting time is reasonable too. Food, uhm, not the type you will always go back to. Cleanliness of the place needs to be pointed out too. Overall, there's a lot of room for improvement to this place.
Their curries are really very nice. Nicely balanced with spices. The Naan was amazing. I was especially surprised by the portion size. The takeaway meal lasted me for 2 meals. On my second visit I tried the Pad Thai. It was ok, nothing great but I couldn’t even say that it was not gud. It was OK, and yes the portion size was huge. This is definitely one place that I would recommend.
Hands down the best Pad Thai ever. Their curries are also great, not for the faint hearted. Great serviceFood: 5/5
Came here tonight and ordered 2x butter chicken but only got one the guy had to confirm like 3 times what my order was and then gave me the wrong order in the end. Was charged for 2 butter chicken as well
Butter chicken absolutely horrendous. Overwhelmingly sweet artificial taste. No trace OR taste of genuine spices/ingredients. Chicken dry as a bone. Stay AWAY!
if i could give zero stars i would. went there today and got chicken korma. got home and the food was cold and had a putrid smell to it. also tried ripping me off by charging me extra and “forgetting” to make my naan. after i confronted them they started talking indian amongst each other and laughing. rude customer service I will be advising my friends and family NOT to visit this place. also two indians came after me and got their meal before me. seems good if you are one of their people as they get priority when serving. 0/10 would not recommend
Made a phone order and was told it will be ready in about 20mins. Arrived for payment and pick up 30mins later to be told they are still doing the order resulting another 30min wait by a discourteous Manager. There's absolutely nothing wrong with their food but their organisation and attitude regarding customer service is appalling.
Horrible, I ordered palak paneer, the paneer was basically raw and barely cooked and the colour was very dark and did not look appetising and the taste overall was just disgusting.
