Don't get me wrong, the quality & choice of baked goods is worth a 5, BUT the customer service of the young woman, with the 'tats', was appalling today. I was embarrassed by her rude, terse comments, & I believe her fellow worker was. Not once, but twice. I went in earlier to purchase one of my favourite items (it hadn't been baked) she was rude then, treating another one of her fellow workers as if she was stupid & she was no better the next time. I have never encountered anything but good service & excellent product, so it took me aback. Maybe she was having a bad day. We all have them. BUT, some serious customer service & teamwork training required I think.

I called this Shop with only 2 days notice as another place had completely let me down, not only was this shop extremely helpful, they even altered their cake decorating to accommodate for a cake for my sisters surprise 50th.  I honestly cannot rate them high enough, extremely warm and helpful and went way and beyond to make our cake that not only look great but the cake was as everyone says, delicious, thank you Elphin Continential Cakes, you were amazing and I'm extremely grateful. Dined in, so I can't vouch for their cakes, but what I did order was a very disappointing vanilla slice. The custard filling was hardly "vanilla", very yellow (too much egg yolk?) and resembled more like a kind of dough than cream. Pastry was dense and flaked poorly. The brandy snaps were alright though.
