Very disappointing pickup experience. I ordered a DoorDash pickup for a single whole chicken and waited over 20 minutes after arriving at the restaurant. I checked in with the staff after I arrived and was told it would only take another three minutes. After waiting much longer, I asked again and was given the same answer.nnWhat made the experience even more frustrating was watching another DoorDash pickup customer arrive after me, check in with the staff, have their order prepared on the spot, and leave within just a few minutes. Their order included a whole chicken, bread and sauce, while mine was only a whole chicken. Despite the staff knowing I had already been waiting, my order continued to be delayed.nnTo make matters worse, the chicken was burnt when I finally received it. Waiting over 20 minutes for a simple pre-cooked item, only to receive burnt food, is completely unacceptable.nnBased on what I personally witnessed, I was left questioning why my order was handled so differently from other customers'. I sincerely hope this was the result of poor management rather than discriminatory treatment, but the experience genuinely left me wondering. Either way, the service was disorganised, inconsistent and far below the standard I would expect from a fast-food chain. I won't be returning.
I've been to El Jannah Burwood quite a few times and one thing I appreciate is that it's usually much less crowded than the Granville location. You still better atmosphere, same quality food, and friendly service, but without the long waits and hectic crowds.nnThe charcoal chicken is consistently tender, juicy, and cooked well. Recently I've noticed it can be a little on the salty side, but it's still very enjoyable and full of flavour. The real standout, as always, is the signature garlic sauce. It's easily one of the best garlic sauces around—smooth, creamy, and incredibly satisfying with the chicken, chips, and Lebanese bread.nnThe staff are generally efficient and welcoming, and orders come out quickly even during busy periods. If you're looking for the El Jannah experience without the chaos of Granville, Burwood is an excellent option. Great food, good service, and that famous garlic sauce keeps me coming back.

This was my first visit to El Jannah Burwood, and honestly, I came for the chicken but stayed for the kindness. The service deserves a standing ovation . The two female staff members were incredibly patient and friendly — so kind that I briefly wondered if they were secretly trained in emotional healing. From ordering to serving, everything was done with warmth and care. My mood improved before my appetite was even satisfied.nnNow, let’s talk about the chicken. The meat itself was delicious — juicy, flavorful, and clearly cooked with experience. You can tell this isn’t “just another grilled chicken.” That said, I have to be honest: some parts of the skin were a bit too charred and slightly salty. Not a deal-breaker, but the chicken skin may have had a little too much excitement that day .nnThe salad, however, was a pleasant surprise — fresh, tasty, and so good it almost distracted me from the chicken. The dining area was clean, comfortable, and very relaxing, making it an enjoyable place to sit and eat without feeling rushed.nnFinally, a heartfelt thank you to the two female staff members for their genuine kindness. Being treated with such friendliness really makes a difference. Four stars not because I don’t love it — but because I’m definitely coming back again. Grateful from the heart
MOST RIDICULOUS ORDER RECEIVED!nI've placed an order for a whole chicken meal through web order and what was received is an absolute joke and completely unacceptable.nMissing is the WHOLE CHICKEN and Large Chips. Bottled pepsi max was also substituted to cans without notice. All I received is a bag of bread, garlic sauce, coleslaw and pepsi.nThis is completely ridiculous, please make sure the workers are doing their job properly and checking the orders before handing it off. How can it be so wrong? This is the 2nd order in a row that has been completely wrong so it is not a singular case and I've decided never again will I order from here. Please get in touch so I can be compensated with a full refund from this ridiculous experience.
