A good walk to this gardens. It was nice with trees to allow for a cooler walk. There's an off-leash and on-leash section for the pups.
Large park with various facilities on site - public toilets north side toilets seem cleaner than the south ones, playgrounds south side bigger and fenced, both north and south have BBQs, table-tennis table, tennis courts, basketball half court, lawn bowls, skate park, ovals. About half of the east side is designated dog off-leash area, so I'd picnic on the west side instead. Alcohol consumption permitted between 9am and 9pm. There are a few bookable areas for events, cost looks pretty standard, generally
It was a lovely place to sit and relax watch the birds and the people go by. The park is very well kept and visitor friendly. There are clean restrooms. The trees are magnificent and there seem to be wonderful. Play areas for children, skateboarders, And lots of areas for lying on the grass or sitting on a bench.
Beautiful and relaxing garden for our Jacaranda hunt!
one of Melbourne’s most cherished public spaces. Spanning approximately 24 hectares, it offers a green escape from the city’s hustle, combining both natural beauty and recreational facilities. The lush, expansive lawns and numerous shaded areas provide the perfect setting for picnics, outdoor yoga, or a simple day of relaxation with family and friends. Its mature trees and well-maintained gardens enhance the peaceful ambiance of the park.nnFor those seeking more active pursuits, the park features a variety of sporting facilities, including tennis courts, basketball courts, and a bowling club. There’s also a popular skate park that draws a younger crowd, offering a space for skating, biking, and scootering. The local sports oval often hosts local cricket and football matches, fostering community spirit and engagement.nnEdinburgh Gardens is also home to several BBQ stations, public toilets, and a large children’s playground, making it highly family-friendly. Dog owners will appreciate the large off-leash areas, which allow pets to run freely in designated zones.nnConveniently located and easily accessible by public transport, the gardens are a popular spot for locals and visitors alike, offering a blend of relaxation and recreation in the heart of North Fitzroy.
