E for Ethel, one of Adelaide's most renowned cafe's is opening its doors to the Adelaide Fringe!!



"E for Ethel is a South Australian, independent family run business, established in 2011 as a café and retail store in North Adelaide, then moving to completely online trading in 2021. E for Ethel aims to be a destination site, with interesting products, affordable prices and quick and excellent customer service."

E for excellent! Hidden cafe through boom gates on Melbourne street. We parked on Dunn St and crossed over. Good homemade food, nice coffee and good service. There was an acoustic guitarist playing inside mid afternoon I’m not sure if this was once off due to Fringe or a regular show with smooth tunes to eat to.
I’m normally a pancake lover for brunch. But I couldn’t pass up the lemon curd French toast! The flavor it fantastic!! I love the location. I felt like a true Adelaide local! On my top 5 brunch places in Adelaide for sure!!!
A great coffee for my Friday! Good temperature when served, foamy forth, and the strong flavour but not burnt from quality beans.
Wonderful artwork and design, the cafe is immaculate in terms of cleanliness, the price is very reasonable, the staff are friendly and polite; there is even a display of locally made products and artwork for sale. Everything is perfect, except for the most important thing about a cafe... The food and coffee. The coffee unfortunately was very weak, as for the food it was very bland, with a distinct lack of seasoning and lack of flavour of any kind. Presentation of the food was non-existant and so was the food in terms of proportions, for my pulled pork burger there roughly 50gm of meat mixed with shredded carrot. My biggest suggestion to the owners would be to invest in the help of a qualified chef to come up with a better menu, and source fresher produce.
Such a lovely spot...hidden in a cosy nook. Coffee and turmeric are just the best! Will be back to try the bagels.
E for Ethel has been a weekly staple of mine for the past couple of years. Everything on their menu is incredible and is complimented perfectly by their insane coffee. Hands down the best in Adelaide! Always the first coffee place I suggest to friends if they in need of a brew :
The Lemon Curd French Toast was very tasty, unfortunately the Soy Latte was absolutely disappointing, the coffee was burnt and the milk thick like a dodgy milk shake coffee sludge at its finest Won’t be recommending or returning.

Delicious menu with lots of variety, from muesli, pancakes, bagels, burritos, salads, juices, smoothies and coffee. If you're gluten-free, you're also in luck here! Pricey but worth it.
