I don't recommend anyone going to this place at all! I was late in traffic my appointment was cancelled even though I rang. Yet I've sat there for over an hour waiting for a doctor when I have an appointment booked. I was charged a $20 fee and have to go with out meds that can't be stopped till next week. This is my third bad experience with this place in a few months of joining. I will be changing doctors!!!
Fantastic medical centre, doctors are great, reception though busy are always smiling and friendly. Appointments are easy to get, can’t fault them
Don't want to give it a 1 as there are a couple of great staff members but these few are overshadowed by the many condescending and dismal staff. The receptionists are especially rude and unhelpful. To add, rung multiple times and spoke to reception between receiving texts and emails about an unpaid account from months prior that was paid straight after receiving it. "I'll look into it and get back to you" never gets back! Also had been in at least 3 times after this dated account aswell, paying at the desk, with no mention of this... strange? Left the practice over 6 months ago and still receive messages to this day, prompting me to write this. Honestly, don't even know why I bothered to call again after the second time they never got back. My new practice has shown me how a doctor's should be, should have changed years ago!
I've been with Durham health many years, doc Cam was great he left! Then I found Angela Stewart what an amazing doctor I could ask for better, she has helped me in so many ways improved my life so much , I would be lost without her! The nurses have changed alot over the years which has been bit upsetting as I used to know all of them on nurse who is great is Paige very kind caring lovely lady, the receptionist have changed but Amanda Linda Michelle Margo Kay have always been very polite and the practice manager has always been heloful
100% leaving. Have put up with the rude reception staff for years. very unfriendly & impatient phone manner and generally just sound like they do not care to really help. I understand it is a busy practice but there is no empathy at all while dealing with vunerable/unwell patients. Being told if i don’t like it “to go to another practice because she doesn’t mind” or when i advise they should be nicer as people are going through things when they call up for a appointment to hear a response “have you ever thought we would be going through things too as we have worked really hard in covid” ?? I do believe that is there job and that is not appropriate to say? Really really disappointing as they do have some good GPS at the practice but TERRIBLE RUDE RECEPTIONISTS - sounds like they are to comfortable with there jobs and need phone manner training!!!!!
Always Polite and helpful. We enjoy having a professional relationship with Durham Health. Always a pleasure.
I have Pcos and endometriosis asthma and type 2 diabetes and maigraelepsy been asked to be referred to multiple clinics that will help me but get told no all the time and that most of my problems are all in my head when seen for asthma attacks get antibiotics thrown at me and told oh just a virus rest and it will get better so glad to leave my partner to has back problems head aches and persistent cough and they wont refer him to a specialist for that either
Great experiences here lately. There was a time that I had considered changing GPs, however new staff and a change in attitude has made me change my mind. Dr Sandy Barr is amazing. My appointment today was inclusive and welcoming. It does depend on who you see as there are some Drs i would not recommend.
My wife has been coming to this place for a year now paying $50 to $100 on multiple appointments being fully charged each time for the same issue she has been coming back for , as she has high blood pressure consistently like hypertension . The doctors have been doing none stop blood tests and go back and forth never referring her to specialists and not caring . We have got nowhere with them the doctors are useless I highly recommend if you have a ongoing issue to avoid them they specially don't care about the younger generation. If you have a cold and can spend $50 to be given some tablets for a cold by all means go for it ...
Reception staff and nurses are rude and dont have "time" for a smile and a genuine good morning/arfernoon. I have only found one polite nurse in the past few months but all the rest are rude and abrupt, no time to talk, just want you in and out! I only keep coming to this doctors because my doctor is actually polite, seems genuine with a lovely smile and is good at her job. If she ever moved doctors I would follow her. Couple of other doctors I go to if mine isnt available which are also nice but I have also had a few rude doctors too. Need some team building on manners I think
