I was very impressed with the doctor I saw 14/10/2022. She was. very thorough and explained her diagnosis and why she prescribed what she did. I also found the receptionist to be very friendly. Was a bit bemused at the cost.. as a gold card holder, I was charged $125 .. I was told that the small print on the fees board explained that I would be charged that as my regular GP is not in the Dunedin area. Good to know this place is here for what I visit family again.
We saw a doctor at this clinic and were told the result from the swap they took would be back within 24-48 hours. We finally get a text 96 hours later to confirm that it is a bacterial infection and if more info is needed to ring the clinic. We do that. The receptionist tells us a nurse would ring back. That was 8:15am in the morning. By 5pm still nobody had called. Had rung during the day to check that they hadn't forgotten about us. We were given the expectation that someone would call soon. The patient in the mean time is rather poorly which was also conveyed to the receptionist. Opted to go to another doctor to get some traction. Had to pay the full fee again of course. Expectation management needs to urgently be improved there!
I honestly don't know what all the negative reviews are about, I went here on a Tuesday morning just before 9 and was seen around 10ish. The doctor insisted on a RAT fair enough considering my symptoms but took a lot of time taking my symptoms, explaining my diagnosis, prescription etc... The receptionist was also nice and professional. In the time I was there I also saw them give a pillow to a kid who needed one and generally be helpful, the only issues I saw were from people who got snotty with them. I guess everyone's experience is different but I wouldn't let negative reviews put you off going, and yes its $128 if you aren't registered at one of their member clinics but its much easier than going to ED and for your health, its worth it.
Waiting room was quiet with only a few people waiting 8:30am Saturday morning. Reception asked if I’m vaxxed, which I’m not and made me feel judged and not that welcome meanwhile no one cares about the vax anymore. Was told I would get quicker service from my GP at Mornington health centre, somehow. Even though it’s an “Urgent Doctor” and there’s barely anyone waiting. Was sent out with my closed and swollen eye unchecked. : Payed for parking but luckily that’s it. Mornington health centre was just as bad, never got through the doors. Was there when their emergency hours started 9am. Told to go home, make a call and schedule an appointment. Receptionist that stuck her head through the doors: “I presume it’s your eye, yea you will have to go home and call us.” Thanks for the help I guess. Go to Roslyn Pharmacy. Much better service and people actually want to help.
Having to wait for 4 hours to see a doctor is absolutely horrible. Everyone who came before and after us left the clinic, and when I checked in reception, the name was not even on the list to see the doctor. Terrible place to go, but there is no other option.
Utter rudeness. Plain and simple there is no standard or communication in this place. They need to firstly get someone more friendly on the counter who knows the art of customer service and communication skills. To ask about wait time and be told to leave if we can't wait is just plain STUPID. Being charged consultation fees up-front is not a way to operate at a medical centre. Unprofessional service. Over priced fees.
Very disappointing. Took my wife because stomach pain because her GP appointment is more than a week away. Payed for the fee $122 before the consultation. When we finally get to see the doctor, all she can advise is to see my wife's GP. Time and money wasted for a useless bit of advice.
Went at 10am; was told there are no doctors until 6pm. So this is the Urgent after 6pm service. No wonder EDs are packed with everyone. There is nowhere else to go.
Staff were so kind and caring, staying late so they could administer a vaccine late in the evening. They took the time to explain what they were doing and why and we didn’t feel rushed or like an inconvenience.
Kindest people ever! Also did a wonderful job stitchin up my face
