The dumplings are ok. Small size. Pork and chive lacked seasoning. I was dependent on vinegar and chilli oil to boost flavor and thankfully the chilli is decent. The Beijing sauce pork was very authentic just Iike how it was done back in my hood. A pleasant surprise. Chow mien was Al dente. Very good texture with tender beef and crunchy veg. It is very westernized but tastes . I would give an extra star but it feels like the place needed some plumbing done. Greeted by the urinal smell when we stepped in. Price here is a bit high and you can get better dumplings from areas like Burwood for cheaper.
Yikes… Was really hoping to enjoy this place but now all I can recommend is stay away if you’re looking for something authentic, or even tasty for that matter. I had the hot & sour soup with dumplings. The dumplings were passable but chewy and bland but the soup—it’s frankly misleading to call this hot & sour soup. Have a quick google of what the soup should look like, then look at the photos here. This soup was basically just water + black vinegar. So disappointing
Love dumplings!!! Consistency with the taste and we love it. It can be busy at times but You have to be proactive and place your order immediately so you wouldn't sit there forever. Service is nice and happy to serve you. You can go with big groups or by yourself. Fresh and yummy!!!
I agree with a lot of the reviews here – don’t expect 5* service although they are friendly and you can see they are doing their best, but the food is good! I’ve been here many many times and the food is excellent. Order your entrees first, otherwise everything will just come out at random times. An example being our fried rice came out first – ten minutes before anything else! Be specific in your order. For example, I ordered a can of coke and ice, and I was given a can of coke…and a bowl of ice. I suppose I technically got what I asked for. It’s not the place you would go on a first date. But with a group of mates, or just general date night – it has excellent food that’s reasonably priced. I give this place four stars, because I've been quite a few times, and I know what I'm in for when I arrive. The crispy shredded beef is a winner!
Foods and price are very reasonable. However I have to agree with other reviewers that service requires some good improvement. It could be the language capability and/or the non friendliness attitude of the waitress that made the whole experience not as pleasant. Shop owner might want to provide some customer service training to its waiting staff members.
This was a lovely surprise for us - a decent yum cha restaurant in Newtown. Their dim sim was large! Steamed mini pork buns and shallot pancake were delicious. Reasonably decent place to go if you're not keen to head into Chinatown.
Amazing taste.and only 10$ things. Crispy surface and juicy meat oil inside. If u wanna 10$ lunch Perfect.and if someone for dinner invitation and bother to cook. Take a way many Kind of dumplers lol
Cold quiet night but the food was good. Cheap, dark and moody.
This is a nice place if you want to enjoy Chinese food.We ordered one fired rice, one pan fired dumpling and one crispy shredded beef,these are enough for two people.the fried rice is delicious and the chicken inside is soft. Dumplings are tasty and beef is authentic. I'm looking forward to eating again .
Don't expect fancy service but do expect good food. Yummy dumplings especially prawn ones. Two levels, so space for large parties. Did get a bit noisy. Apart from the dumplings had the spring roll pancake, and fried eggplant. Everyone enjoyed their dishes. Didn't visit the toilet so can't advise on that.
