Absolutely lovely. Cosy couches, cushions, and blankets. Drinks alcoholic and nonalcoholic and popcorn available at the bar. They also sell books and snacks made locally. There’s a fireplace too. Very lush and intimate feel. I caught a Wednesday evening movie, ticket was $20. Highly recommend
Such a gem, I haven't been to a cozy vibrant cinema like this since I moved out of Europe. Brilliant place, with unique atmosphere. The seats are so comfy you want to stay there under the blanket which they also provide forever.

So so nice! Good drinks and snacks, and even the larger of the two theaters is remarkably cozy. Definitely come here over the regular cinemas in Queenstown, it makes a night at the movies a lot more special!

Wonderful way to enjoy a movie in a boutique cinema. More like being in a nice lounge with some friends you don’t know yet! This place provides an experience that is the way movies should be watched. In the main Theater you always have intermission and plenty of drinks and nibbles to enjoy! You should try and see at least one movie in the den which is the smaller more intimate lounge style environment.
I love visiting Dorothy Brown's! I often come down with my partner mid 20s for date night when we visit Arrowtown. We treat ourselves to a gin at the Gin Bar before the film and then cheese and red wine when we're in there! I love the selection of indy and big box office films something for everyone and I love love love The Den! Such an intimate, comfy theatre. Definatly the spot to go.
This a great little cinema. Gorgeous to say the least. Old World charm. Comfortable and cosy. The foyer is fabulous inside seating, bar with food and wines and coffees and the usual cinema fare. There is also a deck. Browse the books whilst you wait. This was my first visit despite several visits to Arrowtown. Loved it. I went mid afternoon. Had the theatre to myself. It is not a city cinema. It is an intimate cinema. Various seating types. Warm and rich decor. Rugs/blankets for those cold days. This is a place not to be missed. Good range of movies. Well done. This is a superb movie goers experience.
Cool vibe small theater upstairs. They do cheese boards, wine, and petite cups of popcorn. Intermission during each show so you can empty your tank and fill up on a second or third cup of popcorn.
Lovely little 'old style' cinema. Definitely worth a visit
