I highly recommend this authentic Japanese restaurant. The store can only seat less than 20 people, so it is not too noisy. We were arranged to sit at the bar facing the sushi chef, which had a very Japanese atmosphere. The set meal is about eight dishes in total, and it took about two hours to finish the meal, but each dish was delicious. They will change the menu once a month, and will come back next time to try a different meal!
Finally made it to Dining Akashi for lunch and it was fabulous. Our friends have been raving about this quaint little place and it totally lived up to the reputation. The food was beautiful, top quality produce, perfectly prepared and most of all DELICIOUS. everything was just spot on. The staff were lovely and friendly. And the ambience cosy and intimate. We love little spots like this that feel personal and special. We cannot wait to come back and try the famed set dinner menu. 10/10.
Really enjoyed the dining experience! Personally think that having an extended dinner like the dining Akashi menu allows you to enjoy the food better and also the company better! Giving it a four star because there’s no dish that actually “wows” me - however I’d still highly recommend if you haven’t tried! Staff really friendly, and it’s authentic Japanese cuisine
Great little Japanese place. They only serve Set menu for dinner. Their deep fried food is their specialty. You need to book this place if you want to dine in. Will I go again? Yes, but will not go often. Their menu changes as well, I think change monthly.
Lovely little intimate spot for some Japanese food specialising in Tempura. We sat at the counter and had a good view of the chef preparing our meal. Overall the food was good and the sashimi & tempura dishes were delicious. Dessert was average. We left full and satisfied. Only slight downside was the attentiveness of customer service. I’m sure they were busy rushing to turn around service or maybe they had new waitresses ? but we had to wait awhile for our table and would have been great to get offered some wine glasses for our BYO. Hope to be back to try other dishes. Maybe lunch next time
This place is a must visit if you love Japanese food. They have a fixed menu option which gives you a real taste of many authentic Japanese flavours in very creative ways. The portions are good for a set menu and at the end they provide a rice dish which will fill you up if you’re not full already. The tempura is really outstanding here and the produce is always fresh. Have been here multiple times and each time has been a very special experience. If you like Japanese food - then you must come here, it’s a small venue so make sure you book ahead of time!
It was our first time to Dining Akashi. We were not disappointed at all. We enjoyed all the dishes on the set menu. It would be really great if there is a beef dish to top it off. The restaurant is pretty small n probably sits about 20 people but it was cosy except for the section which was divided by a door. You could feel the cold draft when it was opened and closed. I couldn't fault the dishes and they were fine quality cooking but not fine dining prices in a more fanciful restaurant. We will certainly go back again when the set menu is changed. You need to book in advance.
This place is highly recommended by a friend, it is not as good as expected, it is a 9 courses meal, overall the food was good, but no dish really really impressed me, and found the beef a bit chewy, we sit at the dining tables, but found the chairs were a bit low for the tables. I would like to give a 3.5 stars.
Bookings are essential, limited seating for 20 person. Our group of 5 had a 2 hours sitting with a 9 course set menu. $78/person. See attached pictures of the December 2022 menu. Ask for hot tea, drinks are byo. Best dish was tempura anago ell for me. Second best was croquettes barramundi. Okay sashimi. Some dishes are fusion/ confusion. Red miso soup wasn’t my cup of tea. Definitely overstuffed. Not sure why only 8-10 customers needed 3 chef and 2 waitresses. Nice and special small restaurant. Buri king fish was the least liked dish tonight. Very not yummy. Omasake menu tonight was full of seafood nil meat for some reason. Nice chef with good attitude to service. But the assorted sauces were a bit too fusion/ confusion to me. Trying so hard not to be too critical to the food tonight alrdy.
