Not the place to go on a busy Saturday lunchtime. I loved their automated table booking system, that was really easy to register and wait. But it took a good 20mins to get a table for 1. I ordered 2 dishes to eat together, but they arrived separately and also took a long time after ordering. The fish had some strange mark and hair on the plate when it arrived via the robot. And it was cold. The rice dish was also cold except for the very centre when it arrived. The staff were lovely and replaced the fish dish when I showed the hair and mark. But, it just wasn't a nice dining experience. Taking over an hour from requesting my initial reservation.
Unique flavours in the menu, probably to cater to the Australian market!! Especially love the wagyu beef fried rice and dried noodles with special sauce quality of xiao long baos is too . The shrimp dumplings tasted a little weird to my liking very mushy but other than that everything was really delicious, portion sizes are very generous. The restaurant also reminded me a bit of haidilao, food orders were served by a cute robot.
Din Tai Fung is always my favourite Xiao Long Bao place. Each soup dumpling is individually weighed, hand shaped and steamed to order, ensuring they are fresh and piping hot delivered to your table. Food and service are always above expectation. Unlike some of the Chinese restaurants featuring fiery Sichuan style dishes, the spicy dishes at Din Tai Fung is generally mild yet delightfully flavoured. The Hot & Sour Soup with Shredded Pork was packed with ingredients. Each spoonful of soup provided a mouthful of minced mushrooms, shredded pork and sliced silky tofu etc. Egg Fried Rice with Fried Pork Chop, pork chop with crispy coating was tender & juicy. Their noodles had a lovely texture, accompanied by tender beef or juicy dumplings or shredded meat, they were all delicious.

The absolute best place I've eaten out in all of Sydney. The food here is amazing, well priced and balanced. The staff are great, they have a robot bring out your food which is always fun to watch and they have plenty of space to accommodate lots of people. Despite the wait times to get in here on busy days, it never takes too long, but even if it did, it'd be worth the wait. Cannot recommend a place to eat more than here.

Great, delicious food definitely get the xiao long bao's! and food comes out relatively quick. You order off an ipad and there's plenty of seating as there's upstairs and outside as well. Con's are it is a bit pricey for what you are getting, and they shut relatively early for a restaurant - so gotta be an early dinner!
Update Sept 2022: I ordered the lychee mint freeze drink and it was very very sweet. The staff offered to remake the drink however I just diluted it with water to make it less sweet. Update March 2022: similar experience as previous. The menu is quite limited. eg: They never have the pot sticker dumplings. They now have a cool service robot that delivers your food. Unfortunately, every time it dropped off our food, the robot faced the other direction, I had to stand up and physically reach around to press the confirmation screen once the food was collected. Consistency here fluctuates. The xiao long baos and the Dan Dan Noodles were good, but others' dishes lacked flavour. Service is quite good at this din tai fung.
Din Tai Fung is one of my favourite restaurant which have the best dumplings, wonton noodle soups and more. I have literally tried everything on the menu! Well close enough! Everything was mouth watering & so delicious. The best comfort food if you love Dumplings and carbs overload They had so many different range of dumplings & wontons types Below I ordered the prawn & pork wonton noodle soup, the noodles was very thin, bouncy, so much noodles in the bowl! I love it drowned in chilli paste, vinegar and ginger! The best The customer service was always pleasant. I think I have been to this restaurant maybe 20 times plus now!!!! haha it’s called dumplings obsession! Everything on the menu has not disappointed me at all. The chilli and vinegar / soy sauce should be available at the time we sit down, we always have to ask for it that’s the only feedback I have but other then that I love this place.
