Beef brisket noodle soup lacked flavour, fried rice and crispy chicken were ok but nothing extraordinary. Chicken was expensive for the amount that we got around $20 for half a very small chicken. Service was fast considering crowds.
We have been here a few times. Food is good and very tasty. We've tried a variety of dumplings and fried rice. The taste and portion consistency are there each time. Depending on what we've ordered, the wait time can be lengthy, especially for the pan-fried dim sum/buns requires steaming then pan-frying. The atmosphere is your typical fast paced Chinese restaurant - definitely not fine dining. The let-downs were abrupt customer service and cleanliness. The waitstaff weren't friendly, although they do get the job done in a no-nonsense way. We've experienced streak marks on tables and some minor oil/food splatter when seated at a 'cleaned' table. The rating is given as we appreciated the tasty food and the typical Chinese eatery experience - it's as if we're dining in Hong Kong. The price without the airfares.
Arrived Sunday 1.40pm. Ordered "Dim Sum in the Cage" combo of steamed and deep-fried dumplings - NOT hand-made for a hefty $31.50. Menu clearly states this dish takes 15 MINUTES to prepare. So we waited... and waited... and waited some more. Steamed dumplings finally arrived at 2.10pm, and were tasty. By 2.25pm - some 40 MINUTES after ordering, the deep-fried stuff STILL hadn't arrived, so we decided to leave. We approached the cashier and explained the situation, and offered $15 being roughly half the cost for half the food received. To our amazement and disgust, she wanted to charge us $21.50, as what we ate now amounted to the Mixed Dumpling Platter!! To add insult to injury, not only was there absolutely no apology or contrition, she even insisted on charging us for our lukewarm tea! They feel they have a monopoly on what they offer, so have a "there's plenty more of you dumb customers" mentality with their service. I am still fuming about the way we were treated! NEVER AGAIN! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED, PEOPLE! :
I'm not sure if they changed their boss or the chef, the food taste unbelievably bad. I ordered Gongbao chicken fried noodlethe chef must pour too much sugar in it and it doesn't taste spicy at all! The noodle is thin and over cooked, I couldn't find peanut at all. I have been to this restaurant before but this time it doesn't taste right compare to last time. We ordered other food as well, none of them taste right. What is going on?
The food is tasty and the dumplings are handmade but the prices are higher than average and the service is below average.
I'D GIVE 0 STARS IF I COULD!! Horrible service and expensive prices for below-average food. I ordered the Beef Brisket Noodle Soup. Not much flavour, only a few small pieces of beef and the beef wasn't soft like it's meant to be, it was chewy and they compensated by leaving big chunks of fat on which only made it worse. The entire bowl only had 3 leaves of bok choi absolutely ridiculous, 1 of which tasted strongly of detergent! I don't even know how that happens! Also since when are there tomato wedges in Beef Brisket Noodle Soup???? Everytime I looked up at least one of the employees were playing on their phones. I don't think anyone really cares if customers leave unsatisfied. Never coming back to this restaurant I'd rather starve
The food is pretty good, but the customer service is ordinary and it's overpriced. Bring your own lasso if you want to get the wait staff's attention. This was a two star review... but our last order was wrong -- twice, and one dish didn't arrive at all.
Waited for an hour to get our food after our order was taken by a very rude staff member. After waiting and waiting.. we did not even get our food. They apparently misplaced the order, hardly an apology, we just left... it was literally a waste of time. Do not waste your money here, worst service we have experienced in a long while. The food is overpriced also.
A MAGISTRATE has warned a dirty Sydney restaurant it risked “a manslaughter charge” because its kitchen was so filthy it could have “poisoned or killed” customers. Dainty Dumpling House in the southern Sydney suburb of Miranda had a “disgusting” kitchen filled with grease-caked equipment and a dirty floor “for years”, Sutherland Local Court heard. Giving the restaurant director Marco Li a blistering reprimand, Magistrate Glenn Bartley said: “You could be in the Supreme Court on a manslaughter charge. “It’s good luck rather than management customers weren’t poisoned or even killed. “What we have is gross indifference to the health of customers, gross prolonged negligence. “The company didn’t [reveal the] disgusting backroom arrangements. “They were misleading customers to think they were operating in a hygienic way.” Dainty Dumpling House’s kitchen had equipment covered in accumulated grease, no paper towels for staff to wash their hands, and uncovered food on shelves. It received penalties for failing to fix a “deteriorating” handbasin after a warning from the council, and for failing to fill gaps to prevent the “harbourage of pests.”
Dumplings tasted ok but were overpriced and small. Dishes are small and so overpriced, service is abysmal at best. There are so many other places to go to eat, don't waste your money here.
