Today I had the worst experience by a doctor in Australia. I don’t want to say his name but I wanna share a story with you. Today I had an appointment with him over the phone and when he called me he asked what is my story. I started like that: I have 45 years chronic tonsillitis…. And then he interrupted me and telling Me that I can’t make diagnoses as I am not a doctor. I was instantly so upset. I told him that I am not making any diagnoses but I feel like I need to explain to him about me a little bit over the phone as this is not a physical meeting. After a while I asked for refund and these people will never see me again. It is very bad when you are in pain and suffering and people s manners are that bad.
On a recent visit to Darwin, I became ill. Booking an appointment at this practice was easy, and they kindly agreed to see me the next day. Mask wearing was mandatory, although I had no Covid symptoms. The surgery is neat, clean and bright with loads of info pamphlets on various health issues. The secretary was polite and efficient. As a first-time visitor to this surgery, I was required to fill in the usual forms. I waited only about 10 minutes and was then seen by a young doctor. He was courteous, helpful and thorough, and I couldn’t have been happier with the attention that I received. As a “bulk billing” surgery, as long as you have your Medicare card, there’s nothing to pay. The clinic is conveniently situated in Carpentaria House, across the road from the Cavenagh Hotel on Cavenagh Street, only a few minutes walk from the hotel where we were staying. Recommended.
This place literally has the most rude and unhelpful receptionist I ever met in my life. Stay away please Also the doctors aren't good at all, do yourself a favour and go elsewhere
I just got a text message from Mediclinic Darwin threatening me with a $20 DNA fee and that I'll be blocked from making any future appointments if I don't attend the one I supposedly booked. I never made any appointment with them. I didn't know this place existed. Scam message? Go ahead and block me lol
Do not recommend Dr Saritha Surendrakumar. I have severe anxiety for flying and when requesting my usual medication i normally frequent a different GPshe asked why I would need medication for the 1 hour flight from Melbourne to Perth and to practice self calming techniques….. Anxiety is a debilitating disease and should be not dismissed by health professionals. People who rely on these medications should not be treated like they have addiction problems.
My experience with this clinic was awful. GP was disrespectful, dismissive and offensive. An elderly person with mobility issues was struggling to get through the door because the staff have no interest in their clients. Waste of time, money and stress.
I rarely visit the GP and have had mixed experiences with various medical practices in the past, but Dr Singh was fantastic. He listens patiently, has a lovely manner and genuinely wants to help. The receptionist on arrival was really polite and friendly too. Highly recommend this practice.
Cancelled appointment for "not being 15 minutes early" when they are closed for lunch. 10 minutes prior to my appointment. Thank you for your response. My booking was for a different health condition and had no flu-like symptoms when I booked the appointment but having seen some white spots on my throat at lunch time, thinking it might be tonsilitis, I decided to call around 1245 an hour before my appointment but was told clinic is closed for lunch until 1330. I called again before walking in and got cancelled. Being a frontliner, I get tested regularly for COVID and have told you I have a recent negative test result. You seem to be so scared of flu-like symptoms that you send patients away despite the PCR result being negative.
Dr. Saritha Surendrakumar is simply an amazing doctor and a very kind medical professional. Very glad to have met her and strongly recommending to all. Keep up the great professionalism and kindness.
Was walked out the door and told I was too complex for Dr Sajan because I have chronic medical conditions. While it upset me a lot that a doctor was unable to provide the service they have studied for many years to provide, I appreciated his honesty and liked the nurse. Would recommend if you only need a quick script but not for ongoing care
