Loved the food and the atmosphere. Attentive staff. Kale and other greens that came with the Salmon fillet were cooked but still crunchy. Had a unique taste of spice and lime which made the whole dish delicious. My parter had Eggs Benedict which was yum too. We have been there before and every time we were are satisfied. Reasonably priced too.
I recently visited Hey Darling cafe in Melbourne and had a great experience. The latte and flat white were both delicious and well-made. The nasi goreng prawn and chilies scramble egg were also a hit - the flavors were well-balanced and the dishes were well-executed. The service by the waitress was also top-notch - she was friendly and attentive throughout my visit. Overall, I would highly recommend Hey Darling for anyone looking for a great cup of coffee and tasty food in Melbourne.
If you're looking for a good breakfast spot, Darling Cafe is worth checking out. The chili scramble and Benedict eggs are both excellent, and the staff are polite and attentive. My friend and I decided to try out Darling Café. As we’ve both been to other venues, owned by the Darling Group, we knew this place won’t disappoint. We had booked a table and we were seated right at the corner — between two windows, which was the best table in the café as it was covered in sunlight. It was a rainy day and the place was warm and cozy. The staff are very lovely and the service is very good. Meals take less than ten minutes to arrive. Both our dishes were delicious and stunningly presented. Coffees were nice and strong. My friend also had a Watermelon & Mint juice, which she really enjoyed. We paid $90-ish for two breakfasts, four coffees, and the juice, which was on the higher side, but definitely worth it. Would definitely go back to try something else. They also have a selection of very well-priced cocktails and outdoor seating.
One of the OGs of brunch - still just as good as the time I went nearly a decade ago. Lots of great drink and food options for all dietaries - comfy seating inside and out. Parking can be a bit tricky on a busy morning but that’s South Yarra for you.
I consistently have a good experience ordering takeaways from Darling Cafe. The staff is kind, friendly, and professional. They took the time to listen and take note of my special dietary requests. Today the generously - portioned scramble egg with mushroom, tomatoes, and onions with a side sauteed was delicate, creamy, and oh-so-tasty. A compliment to Chef and staff. Til next order.
Food is ok but coffee is great. Pancakes are soo good. Scrambled eggs is looking good but not that perfect. Milkshake is horrible.
It was very good Nasi goreng and Pad Thai. Definitely a good place to go. Great service and very polite as well. It is a bit busy at times but definitely a good place to go get some drinks and food when you want to chill.
The Benedict was our standout dish, it was delicious. Bruschetta hard to cut and got messy - had no wow factor compared to the bene, but still enjoyable. Relaxed and attentive service. What they didn’t know, they promptly went to find out.
The other reviews about the staff are accurate to the many times I've eaten and ordered from this cafe; I enjoy the food, so I keep coming back, hoping it'll be different, but staff can barely be bothered to look at you, or pause in their conversations. Check-in and vaccination status are never checked, and staff have rarely worn masks over the last 18 months often, there's an attempt, with it placed over their chins. Delivery during lockdowns was unimpressive, with my eggs on toast coming without toast!, or my French Toast coming without its sides. Ultimately, it's South Yarra - you can find somewhere else.
