Darband Restaurant

Story

“My best memory of the restaurant is the afternoon of 8 July 2005,” says Morteza Hemmati. That’s the day he opened Darband Persian Restaurant.

Since he opened the restaurant 6 years ago, Darband's authentic and affordable Persian Cuisine has been getting rave reviews from the media and his customers alike.

“I had been thinking of opening a restaurant for a long time,” he says.
He is passionate about Iranian cuisine.
Mr Hemmati says the secret to his success is “great service, highest quality and affordable prices.”

His delicious kebabs are as good as the ones in the authentic restaurants in downtown Tehran.

Darband is a great place to take a group of friends and have an unforgettable dinner dinner or a great weekend lunch!

The taste is super delicious, the portion is large and the rice portion is generous. The koobideh in the restaurant is especially delicious and must be ordered. Great Persian food, highly recommended Persian restaurant. The only downside is that the recent price hike has taken away the value
Came highly recommended, one of the least expensive Persian restaurants with a definite family atmosphere. Not that many people work there and at peak times it can get quite busy with noticesble delays. The yoghurt drink here is amazing and the more stewy options as well as the grilled ones delicious. Onion and pita are complimentary...
4.3 - Casual Eatery, Very Popular. I enjoyed the Eggplant Dip and Bread, as well as the Berry rice. Not too keen on the lamb backstrap though as I imagined it would be softer! Would love to try other types. I liked the interesting tomato but the Berry rice was definitely the highlight for me. Good Value meals and Customers seem very happy and content. A lot of people were ordering a drinking yoghurt although I didn't try this time.
Good overall. The prices match the food quality and the service, and they are quite reasonable. Don't expect any fancy treatment there. The staff are sufficiently caring and friendly.
Excellent and superior food, portions and price nobody beats it in Sydney They ran out of Ghormeh Sabsi, the Persian herb stew - to die for. But the Zereshk Polo Morgh left me with lasting happy memory as it's hard to come by yummy yummy tasty homey food! Very family friendly & vegetarian friendly
The first time I have had Persian food and it was delicious. The lamb and chicken dishes were succulent and a delight to eat. And the rice, mixed with butter I have never had that before, was wonderful. The poor waitress was run off her feet with the customers that just kept coming into the restaurant. That probably explains why the food took a bit of time to be served, but the wait was well worth it.
Use to be very nice now the taste is different... just like every other restaurant first it's nice then turns down... Zersh polo use to be very nice now 3 out of 10
Unusual style of cooking but most tastyFood: 4/5
Kebab and chicken pieces was ok. Service was very slow. The sauces were just tomato flavoured. Food was a bit bland. Price was good.
We are having Zereshk Polo and Baghali Polo, it’s amazing! Have been here in the past and it never fails to impress. From the quality of the food, the size of proportions! And it’s so inexpensive, even after Covid, when everyone else has busted up their prices. This has to be the best Persian in Sydney Vegetarian options: Salads, rices, beans, berries, herbs Kid-friendliness: Lot’s of families come here all the time Parking: You can readily find parking outside, we stopped in the carpark across the road Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs and no obstructions
