Seen the New Year in here. Fantastic location to see fireworks, great drinks choices and excellent food options presented in a closed function. DJ music and atmosphere great. Well worth the cost to celebrate NYE with friends.
Discrimination isn't a crime in America, but it should be. Although other white males in front of me had on "runners" I couldn't get in because I didn't have the "right kind of shoes on" for a Sunday. People of color beware. I was the only person of color in line with roughly 20 people. The security guard said, "You can stay at the downstairs bar but you can't go upstairs". To begin with, I was wearing a hat and asked if there was a dress code at the front door, and the door man said no so I waited in line for approx. 20 minutes. After the first doorman checked checked my passport he allowed me in. The next line was for the elevators and another security guard looked me in the face and down at my feet and immediately walked over to tell me to say I wouldn't be allowed upstairs. At that time, I pointed at two white males directly in front of me and stated that they too we're wearing running shoes. He said, those are different kinds of runners. It was clear that he wasn't going to let me up so I turned and left, took a picture of the sign and front doorman, and took a bus back to my hotel. Know your rights and formally report incidents of this horrible nature to the Anti-Discrimination Commission Queensland to raise awareness.
We were treated really bad. We made a reservation for a table at Dandy's so we went upstairs when we arrived. The manger told us we were there without any reservation and we were not allowed. Apparently, Dandy's was closed and they did not have signs that it was closed. Google said it was open and nothing stopped us from making the reservation. We literally got scolded for being there! Really rude manager!!
The staff was rude to us and completely ruined my friend's birthday party for us. We had a prebooking to the bar which was confirmed by the hotel and when we entered they said our booking is invalid and the place is closed. Google said the place was open and the management refused to accept their mistake. We walked away so unhappy.
Great place with a cool VIP section that's an awesome place to chat and chill. The hostess Sophie took amazing care of us. Loved it!
Had a really great time on a Sunday night, this place is very casual and laid back. The venue was holding a 'ball' which was advertised with a more formal dress code but I found people wearing sneakers and casual clothing. Staff and really chatty and I found the security were surprisingly very friendly, making conversation with everyone and even doing a bit of dancing. Basics were $6 that night. There was a good range of music, mostly pop with a few throw backs. There's plenty of seating around the rooftop and there's a nice view of the city. The colourful roof does enhance the atmosphere and gives the place a fun and lively vibe. Overall I'd see myself coming here from time to time, more likely on Sundays as I think there are places in the Valley that are better on the weekend.
Went there last night and the girl serving me at the bar was so rude I was shocked to know she speaks to customers that way. I only asked a simple question that she answered back so rudely and angry towards me, shouldn't be working there. Pizza was okay and not he best out there. Waited abit longer due to eftpos machines being down. Nice place though.
Great place for an afternoon or evening with friends or family. When I visited on a Saturday afternoon there was plenty of space to move around and the view was pretty decent. In good weather there is a lovely breeze and in bad weather there are weather-proof curtains drawn down. Dinner menu is limited but tasty pizzas, share platters. There are no toilets on this level so you'll have to take the stairs four flights! or the elevator to freshen yourself up.
One to avoid. So many better places around!! "Casual" but not all runners allowed. Even the plainest black non offensive type. We were told that we can't go upstairs but we can stay downstairs. Where we were served by the grumpiest & rudest bar staff we've come across. Food was also less than average.
We had our work Xmas here last night. Awful!! Service with a bad attitude and a waiting period had to wait for the barman to finish chatting up the girl. He was from Bournemouth she was from Leeds had she been here long? how was she enjoying her time here I’ve been bartendering for a while blah blah blah Food took 2.5hrs to arrive. $90 per platter and all I got was 2 chicken nuggets and a spring roll The rain came pouring in drenching the floors tables and chairs. Nobody mopped up the floors or put out a caution when wet sign. When my manager hit up the barman about the wait time on the food and the portion sizes he was told if he didn’t like it go somewhere else. We chose Dandys because we’d heard good things! We have all worked so hard this year we wanted to come out and celebrate a job well done but the attitude of the staff and the horrible service was such a downer.
