Bad taste & low quality chicken. The sauce in our two dishes was so diluted it was almost like water. These people know they are cutting every possible corner and clear don’t care. The cheese nan was good tho hence the 2 stars.
Had some take away from here. Checked reviews before hand and saw it had some good ones. Now I am very confused how some people raved about the food. I tried vegetable samosa which to be fair was actually tasty. Chicken tikka was good but that pretty much it. Vegetable pakora was a miss and the 2 curries I tried were bad. The lamb Rogan Josh tasted like tomato sauce as in that’s all you can taste. No spice or flavour. If I didn’t know what it was I would have never guessed from the taste that it was an Indian dish. The vegetable Korma was inedible. I really hate wasting food and usually I would still eat even if it doesn’t taste that good but in this case I just couldn’t and it ended up in the bin. Ididn’t expect anything amazing. I was just looking for something tasty. Really a shame.
I am basically from India and went to this shop today and bought most of the curries six small size each displayed their as I was craving for Indian food long time since I came from India. The curries and other Indian dishes were displayed neat and clean. went to the counter and introduced myself to a lady who was the counter that I am from India and the place where I am from. She did not even give me inviting smile or did not care about anything what I am saying. Her attitude and behaviour was just I have to buy something and get away from the shop. I was feeling so guilty and upset, why did I say I am from India. I dine in and had a garlic naan and chicken curry and it was okay and will give the review in coming days rest of my curries I have bought. I said thank you when I left the shop but no response again. So sad to see the behaviour. Vegetarian options: The shop displayed some vegetarian curry dishes as well.
I lived in Maroubra for more than 10 years and this curry shop is one of my favorite in Sydney, their butter chicken and mango chicken is silky smooth and creamy, vegetable korma is aromatic and delicious.
Today I had something called food in a long while and really enjoyed till the last chew. Only one thing I can say is they know what they are doing. It's not expensive but they arey better than others. I never regreted for coming here taking around an hour drive.
If you look for a friendly meal, you can go to Curry King Express. They offer variety of curries. Medium size vegetable curry is $8.50 and you can choose 3 kind of veggies curries and rice, while for 3 curries with meat is $9.50. You also need to pre-order biryani rice because they don't always prepare it in their daily display stock. I had hot beef vindaloo it apparently was super hot, mild chicken tikka masala and daal. I was not so into the rice, because it smelled moldy when I chewed it.
Curry was very watered down and had no flavour. Extremely disappointed. Samosa was also very bland. Rogan Josh had no spice. Near was gristly. Sad, as this used to be a regular dinner spot. Must have changed management. Will not be back.
Love this little Indian restaurant! Good tasty homemade food and lovely people! Thanks guys! Have a good holiday :Food: 5/5
The best take away Indian food in the Eastern suburbs. The curries always taste fresh and delicious, quality of ingredients is great, not oily like other places, and the service is always super friendly. I can't speak on the somosas and other fried foods as I haven't tried them, but the curries and naan breads are top value! I'm a regular customer at this little gem. Ignore the negative reviews.
Not well-mannered with the customers. Was planning to get some food for 5 people, but I ended up only getting 1 for myself due to their attitude.
