We wanted to try some different cuisine and found this place. Honestly, I am unfamiliar with Indian Cuisines but this place is great. Portions looked little but were very filling that we didn't even finish it all and had to take away the food. Thoroughly enjoyed everything we had as everything were very flavourful. I'm so glad to have found this place. I am pleased with the nice people, very warm and friendly. The only downside for me was the bathroom upstairs. I am kind of a scaredy cat and the bathroom was kind of scary looking. Loved everything though, would love to come back to try more
Really good authentic Indian food! Had the goat curry, palak paneer and aloo bangen with garlic naan. The portions were perfect for 3 people with 2 naans. You can even tell them your level of spice. The goat was super tender. All around great experience!Food: 5/5
Yummy Indian Food in Hobart. Friendly owners. We had a great experience while on holidays to Hobart. Ordered Goat Curry, Butter Chicken and Daal Makhani with laccha parantha’s. Food was delicious with fresh green chillies and ginger threads exactly as we like it. They brought 2 paranthas at a time to ensure we got hot crispy ones. Serving was a bit small but that’s okay as the quality and taste were good.
Possibly the best Indian take away we have had. Butter Chicken was fantastic. Beef Madras was excellent too. Being Friday evening, I was surprised there were not many patrons. For those of you wandering up and down Elizabeth Street looking for a great Indian food, do yourself a favour and check this place out.
The butter chicken and garlic naan I had today were the best Indian dishes I've ever eaten in Hobart . The owner of the restaurant loves making high-quality food, but they need to work on making the cooking process quicker.Food: 5/5
I recently dined at this restaurant and found the experience underwhelming. The biryani lacked the rich flavors I anticipated, making it quite bland. Additionally, the non-vegetarian platter had some issues, as the chicken seemed off. As we went by the rating, this was quite disappointing. I hope the restaurant can address these concerns for a better dining experience in the future.
2 stars for food as the samosas and onion bhaji were tasty. The curries lacked depth, all I could taste was salt. The service was unprofessional, some training is desperately needed! We were the only people dining there on a Saturday night, that says it all.Food: 2/5
My wife and I had a celebatory lunch on 9th May for our 32nd anniversary. It's a humble, ambient, quiet space with wonderful authentic food and top class service. The family who run the business were very friendly, explained the dishes to us and were very happy to talk with us. Our most vivid memory, apart from the wonderful flavours of the food was a grandmother singing an Indian lullaby to her newborn grandchild. Absolutely sublime. We highly recommend Culinary King Indian Restaurant if you are looking for an intimate, authentic experience. Jules & Karen Witek
Ordered chicken vindaloo very friendly nice people but vindaloo was very depressing tasted like spicy tomato sauce not authentic at all I come home cooked my own vindaloo using Deep vindaloo paste and was much better.Food: 1/5
I don't usually eat Indian food, so I didn't know exactly what to choose. I followed my intuition and I tried an entry that I don't remember the name right now but I remember the taste, it is that one with couliflower with two sauces, one salty, and the other sweeter So good! I am a couliflower lover, so I loved it, especially with the sweet sauce. And I tried the Beef Bombay and garlic Naan. Everything so delicious! Thank you for the service in Christmas!
